Mr.TaterSalad Posted May 20, 2024 Author Posted May 20, 2024 (edited) Ahhhhh yes, the great was it Brad Holmes or was it really all Brandon Sosna debate. Now I guess we get to see was it really Brad Holmes as the brains of the operation or was it all Sosna. This is like the debate around was it really Belichick or was it all Brady. In all seriousness though, this guy sounds like a pretty sharp kid and a some what of a loss for the Lions. Edited May 20, 2024 by Mr.TaterSalad Quote
RandyMarsh Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Its weird to be a fan of a team that have executives and coaches that other teams want. Quote

Mr.TaterSalad Posted May 20, 2024 Author Posted May 20, 2024 We lost Kevin Colbert to the Steelers in the 1990s. It's too bad Bill Ford Jr. didn't offer him the job of GM instead of Millen. Though, had he, fans would have just bitched that they promoted from within like many of us did when Mayhew got bumped as next man up. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 That 90's Lions front office also had Rick Spielman and Thomas Dimitroff as well. Both of those guys did go on to build playoff teams. Quote
Jason_R Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 There is so much talent in this league that every franchise has some of it. But leadership matters. Quote

Hongbit Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Sosna is a admin and numbers guy. All off field stuff and he had nothing to do with picking the players. They also still have Mike Disner. He could be the most easily replaceable of all the front office guys. Quote

Jimbo Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 (edited) It'll be interesting to see who will have the better career. Nacua or Brown? They will be compared because of their later round picks and it being the Rams and Lions. If I was a betting man I would go with Brown since he has had more successful seasons and has stayed healthy. Although Nacua was crazy last year and it was only his rookie season. The playoff game against us was ridiculous although it was against last years secondary. Edited May 21, 2024 by Jimbo Quote

You could make the case that Branch and McNeil belong on that list. It's possible Campbell, Williams and/or Arnold make the list next year. I also like with all the hype the Packers are getting about being so young, not a single Packer made the list. I also didn't see any Bear or Viking. I would be shocked if a Viking made it given Kwesi's terrible draft record. Quote

How does a guy like that last until the 177th pick? if he was at a bigger school/conference, I wonder if he would have been overlooked. Everyone passed on him multiple times. Just amazing production. obviously, having Stafford as your QB does not hurt. Quote

An okay or mediocre WR can be made into a really good WR with the right QB chemistry. See Kenny Golladay. Not saying Kupp is Golladay, to be clear. Quote

See, when Stafford was here the Stafford fans were saying the exact opposite. When Stafford critics, like myself, would bring up the whole "who has he made better" argument we were often dismissed and told how non-elite QBs don't really make WRs all that better. When critics would bring up some of the names that guys like Brady, Farve, Rogers, and other QBs made better critics were often rebuked thar those were elite QBs and you can't compare Stafford to those players and expect him to be at their level. I know that Wilson has had nothing for QBs throwing to him and he's quite a talent but how is he ranked ahead of St. Brown? Edited May 22, 2024 by NYLion Quote
