lordstanley Posted March 20, 2024 Author Posted March 20, 2024 (edited) Raymond ties it with 12.6 seconds to go!! Edited March 20, 2024 by lordstanley Quote
lordstanley Posted March 20, 2024 Author Posted March 20, 2024 Off to overtime. Really, really need this 2nd point though. An overtime loss to CBJ at home would be a fail. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 20, 2024 Author Posted March 20, 2024 (edited) Did Kane win it?! Let's see if it's reviewed. Update: That will be a good goal. Confirmed! Edited March 20, 2024 by lordstanley Quote
gehringer_2 Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 We're seeing the emergence of Raymond as a the second lead on this team. Edvinsson was fine. Got to a lot of pucks, cut off a lot of rushes, controlled the puck well. 1 Quote

buddha Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 another win that shows how bad this team is without Larkin. theyre playing a horrible team, at home, and they barely win. hey, a win is a win. but this is just another example of how this team is defying the numbers and - honestly - getting lucky. it helps that everyone else at the bottom of the east sucks too. Third CBJ goal was on Reimer. Raymond is playing like a star. Fabbri had a good game. Kane is immensely talented, but he doesn't create possession. DeBrincat is in a funk. OTOH, Edvinsson gets pucks back. And attempts to forecheck against him were futile. I don't care if he makes an occasional mistake if he drives/maintains puck possession like that. At least against CBJ's level of play. Can he do it against better competition? Tonight was a good start, but we'll see. Quote

Even given the most optimistic read - which would be that Edvinsson sticks and raises the level on D, they are just about as desperate for another center as they have been for the DMan and Kasper is still too far away. Veleno is still terrible, Ras does some good things but if they had the center depth I'd still rather have him at a wing. Quote
Shinzaki Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Stamkos and Reinhart are both UFA's... Failing at signing another C...I would like to see them try Raymond at C in camp Quote

Compher gives it his best, but he's more like a 3rd line guy. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 21, 2024 Author Posted March 21, 2024 Larkin to be a gametime decision. Reimer in net. Should be a playoff atmosphere tonight. Wings are wrapping up a 5-game stretch of winnable games: vs Arizona, vs Buffalo, at Pittsburgh, vs CBJ, vs NYI. I wanted 7 out of 10 points. But so far only 4. A win tonight is a must and would mean a 3-2 record over that 5-game stretch. Not great, but maybe stopping the bleeding. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 21, 2024 Author Posted March 21, 2024 Larkin's back! And almost kicks one past Reimer. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 21, 2024 Author Posted March 21, 2024 Scoreless after 1. I guess that's something of a win, given some of the dreadful starts the Wings have had during this bad stretch. Quote
