Who's gonna sign that guy now? I do believe in 2nd chances, but this is ridiculous. Reminds me of that time Crash Davis told the guy what Nuke LaLoosh was going to throw, but he was trying to teach Nuke a lesson. It’s like he didn’t want the season to extend into the playoffs. Sounds like he’s in a really strange emotional, psychological space which of course happens, I get it but wow, I’ve never heard of anything like this happening. gehringer_2
Only the Phillies and the Dodgers still have a mathematical chance to get to 100 wins. It would require taking 10 of 12 for the Phils, 11 of 12 for the Dodgers. Given the hot starts by a number of teams this season I'm surprised no one is going to end up having that kind of year.

This really is quite surprising. You would think the way some teams are so stacked and have spent so much money that the odds are that someone could just “buy” 100 wins, but no. I wonder what the source of this new parity is or if this is an anomalous circumstance.

RandyMarsh
Luis Arraez of the Padres had his first strikeout in over 5 weeks yesterday. Longest such streak since Gwynn in the 90s. Given how things are strikeout wise in today's game this is one of the more impressive things Ive heard this season.

Tiger337
Ohtani gets to 50/50 and then 51/51 with one of the most unreal days ever. 6 FOR 6 3 HRS 2 2B 2 SB 10 RBI
RandyMarsh
Has got to be the greatest stat line ever, I would say performance but playing against the Marlins in a huge blowout and facing a position player for one of your at bats kinda negates it a tiny bit atleast compared to if you put up something similar in a big playoff game or something. Nah, I don’t think it matters for this. If it were the 74th and final of the season, the asterisk would be make sense.

I don't think this team will just be happy getting into the playoffs. I'm sure their goals are much higher. My question is, are they going to come back next year like the Lions did after finishing 8-2 to end the 2022 season?

However, regardless of how they finish, I wouldn't count on the same group sustaining this kind of play for 162 games. I am hoping they make significant upgrades this off-season.
