I did it correctly so well 40 years ago that his face turned beat red. He was jumping up and down and scanning the seats for the culprit and being the pseudo intellectual I am I shouted out “He thinks we’re all guilty. It’s like a Kafka novel!“ Which actually got a rise out of a few people in the stands. I mean, after all, it is baseball and attracts a higher class of people. It’s not a tractor pull.

The uniform patch on the A’s new uniforms. I love it when a plan doesn’t come together, and the oligarchy is shamed. Eventually, being a master of every universe you encounter doesn’t work.

Totally random but I just saw a wild stat on my Facebook feed, the most seasons in MLB history by somebody with atleast 1 stolen base without being caught is 10.....by Greg Maddux.

Now it’s like they are just messing with the rest of MLB. 4 yrs/$72M to help their bullpen.  Now they should sign Bregman to a 6 yr/$180M contract as their utility guy.

I thought I had LordStanley's post quoted.  This is in reference to it.

We had moved to western NY in 1969 and the Tigers were out of range except by a WJR broadcast that was dependent on atmospheric conditions.  The Tigers on national TV was a rare treat.  I still can picture in my mind Rodriquez' dribbler that made it over second and through the infield to plate the winning run.  That was the game, wasn't it.  It still is a cherished memory for me and it was just a game on tv that I watched alone.

5 years for a one dimensional player who I suspect won't age well.  He was never a good fit for the Tigers even short term so this does not disappoint me.

Nothing against him - I hope he does well. That said, I see a potential similar career path to Chris Davis or Khris Davis. Doesn't fit Harris' type of player.

Craig Paquette got 2/4.75 from DD 23 years ago and we thought he was nuts. A player with a similar skillset gets 5/90 now.

Paquette never had a WAR above 1, so I don't think they are similar.  Santander is OK on the right team, but not the Tigers and not for 5 years.

I remember the Detroit media being so excited that we signed a free agent when we got Paquette….
