casimir
A long, long, long, long time ago, I was wandering the concourse of Tiger Stadium before a game. I have no idea where they came from, but Deer and Trammell were walking ahead of me. And then they opened some door and vanished just like that. There were others on the concourse, but nobody bugged them along that short stroll. I guess everybody else was too gobsmacked to see players walking around there like I was. This is supposed to be about Colt Keith, but can really be about most of the Tigers hitters. https://suno.com/song/582c35e7-fef4-4aa0-946a-a1691161e14e [Verse] Bases loaded It's in my hand I step to the plate Tryin' to make a stand But the pitch comes fast It's just too quick Swing and miss Strike one I feel so sick It's been a tough year Can't seem to find my groove Strugglin' at the plate So much to prove I'm chasin' dreams But they keep slip away Each game feels like a battle Nothin' goes my way [Verse 2] Ground balls Fly balls They all find a way To land in gloves Where they shouldn't stay I used to feel the joy The thrill of the game But now it's just frustration Nothing feels the same

No, everyone there beside you was opposing team fans lol because Randy Smith had built such a pathetic team. I remember going to Tiger Stadium as a kid when the Indians would come to town and there would be more Indians fans than Tigers fans because we were so bad. Wouldn't you be disappointed as hell if all Tork amounts to is Rob Deer or a poor man's version of Deer? Deer had a career OPS of sub .750 and struck out an average of like 150 times a season. He's the poster child for all power and no smarts when at the plate. A dude just ripping at the ball with poor pitch selection and bad swings. I would be mildly disappointed but not really surprised as most hitters drafted will not be as good as Rob Deer.

Deer was a Tiger from 1991 through mid 1993. Cleveland's first winning season eva was 1994. I'm not even sure baseball was acknowledged in Cleveland before that. They played in a football stadium for crying out loud.
