romad1 Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 This would be an effective lever for all criminal defendants in the future. "Judge, the very act of prosecuting me for murder indicates bias against murderers." Quote
romad1 Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 This too. "My client is uncontrollable...therefore any attempt to control his behavior is by definition impossible. " Quote
oblong Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 She has to wait for the experts from the Federalist society to tell her what to do. They are the ones who are running this case. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 It's fitting DeNiro is out there. Trump is basically Paulie from Goodfellas. Michael Cohen is Henry. Rudy is probably Tommy. Not sure how Jimmy would be. A lot of possibilities. Quote

Trump doesn't want to get his hands dirty. He just has someone else do it. Trump is more of a Cappo. Putin is definitely the Don. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I'm not a legal expert, but is it common for judges to require counsel to write essays with a minimum word count like it's junior high? Quote
mtutiger Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I have no idea what will happen, haven't followed closely at all.... but if today's closing arguments are any indications, the legal firepower on both sides is like lining up the New York Yankees against the White Sox Low-A affiliate lol Quote
romad1 Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 i just don't get how you could formulate that Dunne and Fanone were "traitors" Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 So what is everyone's guy telling them regarding the verdict in this case? Guilty, not guilty, or hung jury? I personally believe it will be a hung jury and that Trump will skate as he typically does and he'll declare victory on it. The average American, not paying much attention to this trial, will see this as a victory for him too because the truth of a hung jury not equaling innocent will get lost in all of Trump's bravado claiming exoneration. Quote
The Ronz Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Not guilty / hung jury. The jury foreman and one other juror are Trumpers. They will either hang the jury 10-2 or convince the others to vote not guilty. Quote
oblong Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 I am not expecting a guilty verdict. I admittedly didn't follow the trial beyond what was posted here. But he gets away with everything and these lawyers and experts on TV still think we are living in a former life where things played out normally and this man will be held accountable. This isn't 1996. Crackpots have learned they can disrupt the system by being steadfeast and they'll do it on juries and on committees and anywhere else in a civil function. Quote

CMRivdogs Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 I'm not going to predict what 12 random people will decide based on my history with casinos. My limited experience on juries (just one) tells me they are impossible to prejudge Quote
romad1 Posted May 29, 2024 Author Posted May 29, 2024 From his mouth to God's ears Quote Former President Donald Trump addressed reporters outside the Manhattan courtroom and called the criminal hush money trial "rigged." Trump also slammed Judge Juan Merchan and called him conflicted and corrupt. "Mother Teresa could not beat these charges," Trump said, "These charges are rigged. The whole thing is rigged." Trump also called the trial a "very disgraceful situation" and complained that he has not been able to campaign during the trial and that he's unable to talk about the ordeal because of the gag order issued by Merchan. "But it'll be talked about in the history books," Trump added. Quote
CMRivdogs Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Mother Theresa would have never been in position to have to cover up payment to a prostitute Quote
