They view this is a season to pass time and see if the young hitters are worth anything; Additionally, they want to see if anyone emerges from Toledo to grab a spot. That's why they didnt' sign anyone right? The young talent is here and needs to get at-bats. Quote

Seems like we barely score against the opposing starter. https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/split.cgi?t=b&team=DET&year=2024 Scroll down and there's a by inning summary. Quote

Or pick up an additional three or four actual hitters. The rot was so deep when Harris came onboard that we all knew it wasn’t going to be fixed by now, or fixed all at once. I don’t know how long it’s going to take, but probably at least another year, if at all. The hitters are also probably going to have to come up through the system—hitters like Keith and Jung and Clark and McGonigle—versus relying on a free agent market as long as we have an inherent disadvantage built into this ballpark. 1 Quote

If Meadows needs more time in AAA, I'd call up Baddoo and platoon Perez and Vierling in CF for now. I think we know what Baddoo is, which probably doesn't cure the ill all that much for now. But if they think Meadows could tune something up in Toledo, I'd take that short term demotion for the long term gain. I would think the Tigers have that opinion as well and have not yet reached that line in the sand. Another week or two, and maybe they reach that line in the sand. 1 Quote
