Dirks says right now Maeda's  FB is trash and the slider is trash. Doesn't leave much.

Maeda is giving me so many flashbacks to the failed signed starters of hte past, like Jordan Zimmerman, Mike Pelfrey, Alfredo Simon....

We'll see how big Harris's juevos are if Maeda continues his gascan-itis going into June...Scott signed him to a two year, $24 mill contract.  If Maeda continues to fall apart, but Harris doesnt man up and move on, then that should be all we need to know about him.

Flaherty and Maeda both seem to have topped out in spring training. Maeda has totally imploded.

It's a really good question, but while Manning isn't the best pitcher ever, if Maeda doesn't improve and continues to maintain a 7-8 ERA, he's too good to leave down there.

I don't know if that entails moving Maeda to long relief or what, but something has to give there.

Flaherty at least seems to recover and give them length even with the early struggles... his last outing against the Twins was a good example.

With Maeda, it just seems like you're waiting the shoe to drop.... the whole arsenal has to work a certain way, and if he can't land pitches / misses on location, it ends up being a really long day.
