romad1 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 winning this series already feels like a significant marker for what this season can be. Quote

Maeda turning in a good start is pretty huge. Having all 5 starters show than *can* pitch well is the prerequisite to being able to hope they *will* all pitch well. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 So..........when is Riley getting hurt? 1 Quote

Why take the chance of him in that OF? because we have too man subpar defensive Outfielders and First Basemen. When Riley is not on the field, we can wind up paying for it. I don't like having Perez and Carpenter out there at the same time. I mean, Coach Buttermaker can tell Parker "Kelly Leek" Meadows to go make every play but then his teammates won't want to play catch with him before the games. Quote

Nah, I'm cool with the other outfielders for a handful of turf games. I don't want to say he's fragile. I would simply rather use those defensive outfield innings on grass. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Colt sits. He seemed to be in the dumps after an AB yesterday. Parker not in the bottom 3 - He has tagged a few balls pretty well despite not having much other than the 2 HR to show recently. Quote
IdahoBert Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Scoring a “normal” number of runs the last couple games has spoiled me. Although I do remember when we had a team full of All-Star hitters and they could go week scoring fewer than 15-20 runs. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 (edited) So are they are going to give Wenceel a little run? Maybe he will be the sleeper of 2024. Edited April 24, 2024 by gehringer_2 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Tigers pick up the 1st run on a Riley single, a walk, a balk, and a Torkelson GO. Quote
Dtrain72 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Well that's one way to get a rbi from Tork in cleanup...but, lucky there was a balk getting runners to 2nd and 3rd, otherwise that was a tailor made double play ball. Quote
HighOPS Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 That was a manufactured run- manufactured by the Rays. Quote
Dtrain72 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Flaherty could go gascan any time...it's been his track record since 2019 Quote
HighOPS Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Is there a story behind the jumping on third home run celebration? Or is there just no equivalent to cheap pizza spears in TB? Quote
IdahoBert Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 I only just yesterday subscribed to the radio, so I don’t know who the other play by play guy is with Dan. Who is it? Quote
clark1mt Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Yay, another error. Or it should be an error. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 (edited) Damn - I don't think they turn that DP even if Javy makes a better throw, but I thought getting the lead man would be enough to prevent a run scoring on a hit. Edited April 24, 2024 by gehringer_2 Quote
HighOPS Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 (edited) Maybin does some road games on the radio. Makes sense because every 4 years or so he comes back to Detroit. Edited April 24, 2024 by HighOPS Spellin' 1 Quote
gehringer_2 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 (edited) Flaherty can't stop the bleeding. Monroe actually spot on with the commentary. Flaherty working away and the Rays taking him to the opposite field. Edited April 24, 2024 by gehringer_2 Quote
Dtrain72 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Oh noo, Flaherty still suuucks...noo wayyyy Quote
