Maeda turning in a good start is pretty huge. Having all 5 starters show than *can* pitch well is the prerequisite to being able to hope they *will* all pitch well.

because we have too man subpar defensive Outfielders and First Basemen.        When Riley is not on the field, we can wind up paying for it.      I don't like having Perez and Carpenter out there at the same time.    I mean,  Coach Buttermaker can tell Parker "Kelly Leek" Meadows to go make every play but then his teammates won't want to play catch with him before the games.

Nah, I'm cool with the other outfielders for a handful of turf games.  I don't want to say he's fragile.  I would simply rather use those defensive outfield innings on grass.

Colt sits. He seemed to be in the dumps after an AB yesterday. Parker not in the bottom 3 - He has tagged a few balls pretty well despite not having much other than the 2 HR to show recently.

Scoring a “normal” number of runs the last couple games has spoiled me. Although I do remember when we had a team full of All-Star hitters and they could go week scoring fewer than 15-20 runs.

Well that's one way to get a rbi from Tork in cleanup...but, lucky there was a balk getting runners to 2nd and 3rd, otherwise that was a tailor made double play ball.

Damn - I don't think they turn that DP even if Javy makes a better throw, but I thought getting the lead man would be enough to prevent a run scoring on a hit.
