We need a 3rd baseman, a shortstop, a 2nd baseman, a 1st baseman and a power hitting outfielder. There's not enough available players to get all of them. Scott Harris hasn't been very impressive. We want Al Avila back!! 😅😅

Tigers and Yankees both have good pitching and run prevention. They just have more hitters who can do damage and work counts.

That was the difference this weekend.

In other words, a roster full of MLB hitters vs a roster full of mostly not MLB hitters.

Jung and Keith have potential to fill second and third. They just aren't ready yet.

MLB average is .239, so we’re not the only team with lousy hitters. However, it will be tough to upgrade multiple positions soon.  Greene is pretty good, Carpenter and Vierling are OK.  Canha is 35 and will be a free agent. Have to hope that Keith’s struggles are rookie-related, but his contract will give him a long leash. Maybe Malloy and Jung can contribute this year or next.  Not sure how we’re going to fix all of our problems any time soon.

It's almost like they have to make some off-season trades. Who would have ever guessed that? The leash for Harris is getting shorter and shorter.

Runs scored is all that matters. There's only 4 AL teams that have scored less. And one (Seattle) is in first place. Time to shake things up, send Meadows and Tork down and call up whoever and whoever.

3 game losing streak cannot turn into a 9 game streak like last year. They need to grind out a win or two in Cleveland.

Oddly enough the Tigers are 19th in the MLB in runs scored. Last year they were 28th. Understatement to say lots of improvement still needed, but things are moving in the right direction, even for the offense. (Run scoring is down this year, making it more difficult to discern the offense's improvement this year).

Doubtful that all 6 guys currently sporting an OPS+ below 50 will turn it around, but if 3 of those guys do, a real possibility, the offense will take another step. The next question is will the pitching hold up? I like the rotation's chances to be solid all year. The pen will have its ups and downs, but don't they all. Still on track, I believe, to winning around 83-85 games, definitely a successful season in context.
