The guy Trump picked actually tried to enforce the law during the pandemic and is now getting hosed by the conservatives for doing so

Quote

Chad Chronister, the Florida sheriff tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to head the Drug Enforcement Administration, said Tuesday he would not seek the post, the second Trump pick to abandon his bid to serve in the Republican administration.

It's going to be hlarious when everybody finds out that crypto is all a ponzi scheme.

I have stayed out of it for now. I have a few family members who have made a killing on crypto. To me it is like gambling, I work too hard for my money to gamble it away.

Vets have been lobbying to close VA hospitals for years. The care sucks donkey balls. Just let us go to an actual hospital and gov't foots the bill. Big win right there.

Example, I have IED frags in my back that resulted in 3 fused discs and 4 metal rods, pew, pew Murica! My city has four hospitals that have spinal specialists that could do my yearly check up to make sure metal frags that could not be removed due to location and risk of paralysis have not moved.. Anyways the local VA does not have a specialists so I have take two days to drive over a 100 miles to another VA have dye injected and stay at gov't provided Motel 6 (illegals get better hotels/motels than F'ing Vets) to make sure things look ok.  Such a dumb pain in the ass.....

Musk and Ramaswamy probably want to enroll vets in a United Health Care plan for vets, similar to Medicare Advantage. If you want a better option (like Plan D) it comes out of your pocket.

the system had been uneven for a long time. My BIL is career retired and he swears by his local VA. You can either try to make it better or move people out of it. The original rationale that that vets would present a different cross-section of medical issues (particularly disability rehab, PTSD etc,) that a specialized service would do better in. That probably not a bad idea, but like anything else institutional, the results no doubt vary.

Trump won't go along with Elon on this though, at least once someone reminds him it would be one less fly by when he does his military parades.

There are so many things wrong with the edge lord mentality thinking they can hand-wave away the DoD budget process.   Its almost as if the person who is saying that is extremely ignorant and on drugs at the same time.

I have mixed feelings if VA hospitals are eliminated and vets are given a plan to go to other hospitals.  There are a lot of negatives with the VA hospitals so vets could and probably would get better treatment in most cases. That is good.  However, overcrowded hospitals are a real problem these days, especially Emergency Rooms.  At least they are in my area.  Eliminating VA could create more overcrowding problems.

We have no idea what the plan will be.  That graph that was posted could just be another made up liberal scare tactic.  Before supporting or criticizing any plan I will wait to see what it is.

That is a good point.  My 99 year old father was in an emergency room for over 30 hours a year ago because there were no hospital beds.  He had both Medicare and VA insurance, so he could go to either.  VA was a cost savings for certain things.

That's what it is in our area. More patients out in hall than in rooms. Lots of police too with people cuffed to chairs. Going to the ER is last resort.

My father’s last year was in a VA home - he received great care. The staff was wonderful…. And it was affordable. Also, only about 15 minutes from me, so I was able to be with him often.

I don’t know what/where all the vets that are in these facilities will be able to go if they are shut down.
My heart aches just thinking about that
