chasfh Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 How come when I read things like this, I can't help but think of Kristellnacht? 1 big thing: Bomb threats target Trump officials Rep. Elise Stefanik. Photo: Alex Brandon/AP Several senior officials in the incoming Trump administration were targeted by false bomb threats this week, the transition announced. "Last night and this morning, several of President Trump's Cabinet nominees and Administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them," transition spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, the incoming White House press secretary, said in a statement. The attacks included both threats and attempted "swatting," in which someone calls in a fake emergency at someone else's home, with the intent to provoke a large police presence. 🚔 Targeted officials include Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Trump's nominee for ambassador to the UN, and former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.), his pick to lead the EPA, Axios' Andrew Solender reports. A family member of former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Trump's now-withdrawn first choice for attorney general, was targeted, law enforcement said. Go deeper. 1 Quote
CMRivdogs Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Such an uplifting message from the incoming guy https://politicalwire.com/2024/11/28/speaking-of-thanks/ Quote President-elect Donald Trump just offered his Thanksgiving greeting: “Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed, and will always fail, because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our Nation just gave a landslide victory to those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Quote
Dan Gilmore Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 After 2020 the big lie was “Stop the Steal”. The 2024 version is that he has a huge mandate from a landslide when he didn’t even win 50% of the votes. So many people willing to embrace lies. 3 1 Quote

Using the same logic, one could just as easily suggest that he actually lost in 2024. Quote

The 2020 reference was the gain of Republican votes percentage-wise in every state over that election cycle (2020). Do you not view this election as a landslide? Quote

I view it as a clear victory, but not a landslide. I do not think 50% to 48% is a land slide regardless of how many electoral votes were won. I do think it's fair for the next few years to favor the Republicans. That is why they have elections and the Republicans won this time. They still govern for the entire country though, so my hope is that there will not be radical moves which change the entire fabric of the country. 1 Quote

The guy he pardoned. Quote Kushner, who was under investigation at the time for making illegal campaign contributions, targeted his brother-in-law, William Schulder, a former employee turned witness for federal prosecutors in their case against the Democratic donor. As part of the plot, Kushner hired a prostitute to lure Schulder into having sex in a motel as a hidden camera rolled. A tape of the encounter was then sent to Kushner’s sister and Schulder’s wife. Ultimately, the intimidation stunt failed, and the woman turned on Kushner. Kushner pleaded guilty in 2005 to 16 counts of tax evasion, one count of retaliating against a federal witness and another count of lying to the Federal Election Commission. He was sentenced to two years in prison. Quote
