It'd look a lot more right wing if three of the columns weren't discussing arguably Trump's least popular policy position (ie. Russia)

Give it time.

colleague mentions to me...that Jeff Bezos wife and some other oligarch wives are supposed to go up into space with his Blue Origin thing.  If they survive that trip it means Bezos is an Oligarch in good standing but if they die...that is defenestration in the Putin model.

It would be nice if it had any impact at all, given how it’s not well-promoted or reported on.

and probably suppressed by social media that is under the thumb of the robber barons.

aren't people just going to then buy it on March 1?

I see it as just a shifting of purchases around.

Yeah - there are two ways to look at this: OOH, as you note, it's not a true boycott that will put any actual economic pressure on any vendor because they don't really care if you buy today or tomorrow as long as you buy. But OTOH, it could be quite effective as a signal of the breadth and organizing power of the opposition movement.

The opposition needs a Gandhi to call for a day of prayer and fasting.

Saw a skeet from JC Bradbury saying just this and my prior was confirmed by an expert economist.

This is the first part of a few months of different boycotts-next up is a week of no Amazon.

My hope is that it gets people to look for and buy from the smaller places, and to learn just how many brands are owned by a much larger company. It's going to take a lot of time to shift people's buying habits, but it's a good start.

The real hammer blow would be a general strike.  People just call in sick on a nation-wide basis for a day or two.

I recall seeing a call for this kind of strike recently. I'll let you know if I find it.

I did a quick search on Bluesky and I'm seeing different things.... one is for March 14th, another for May 1-3rd.  I'm seeing a few others, too.

Hmmm, we're going to need to be more organized.
