One big difference is the run differential. Last year after 40 they had a significant negative RD. This year they are +3 3 1 Quote

gehringer_2 Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 (edited) all we need now is for Torkelson and Greene to hit in the same ballgames. In the last 7, Tork is at 320, Greene has gone ice cold to 138. Edited May 12, 2024 by gehringer_2 Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 This game sucked. It was like being spanked by the ugly babysitter and your mom thinks you’re lying. Quote

It's one thing to get stoned by Verlander when he has it all working, or even losing ugly and knowing there is stuff you can fix, but continuing to fall just short of the mark in close games and have no answer is more the downer. 1 Quote
SoCalTiger Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 There’s no shame losing to Verlander, but he doesn’t pitch against us every day either Quote

That total goes up if their hitting improves; It goes down if they have major pitching injuries. I think we now have a pretty good read on how this will end up. And the division is much better than we thought; They will not be competitive unless the offense improves. This sounds about right. Now if we could only get this offense to wake up... Or at least a few certain players. Tork opened his eyes today, stretched, yawned, and smacked his 1st HR of the year. Need... More... Quote

Henning is such a tool. 383 is not a HR in any CF anywhere and he certainly should know that. What's so ridiculous is that he's been in every major league park countless times, its absurd he makes statement that people will rely on assuming he's giving them reliable reporting when he's not. It was to the gap in right center. He's getting the info from statcast and it says the ball would be a home run in 15 parks. Keith did crush that ball but he hit it to no man's land in triple alley. He hit a couple line drives right at the center fielder too. Quote

In the first 35 games, he was hitting everything on the ground or popping it up. Quote

He just hasn't been making solid contact and hitting the ball regardless of the hit profile. 1 Quote

Hate to hear that kind of crap. Edited May 13, 2024 by gehringer_2 Quote

Yes, I don't want hear excuses. Keith isn't hitting the ball hard like he supposedly did in the minors. I thought one of his best assets was supposed to be his power. Hinch probably will, but I would not - I still want to see him use the more of the field and be more aggressive on FBs middle to outer third. Even Gibson complained today that Tork takes too many strikes. Quote
