bobrob2004 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 The Tigers have now matched last year's record through the same number of games, 23-25. Quote
Tigermojo Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Skubal is pitching so they will score 27 runs for him. Quote
oblong Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Where does Bobby Witt Jr rank on the "It's fun to just watch this guy play" spectrum? Trout. Ohtani. De La Cruz. Quote
Tigermojo Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Skubal had to trim some loose skin from his middle finger before the game. Could be tender and affecting his command. Quote
kdog Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 he also must feel immense pressure to be almost perfect with his supporting cast. 1 1 Quote
Tigerbomb13 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Skubal definitely isn’t right with his blister or whatever. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 2-0 feels much worse with this Tigers offense. Is Dan Petry finding excuses for Skubal's lack of command? Quote
kdog Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 (edited) 7 strikeouts in 10 hitters..what a terrible product. Edited May 22, 2024 by kdog Quote

And that is exactly one of the things that has obsoleted the idea of forcing guys to throw more pitches to get teams to their bullpens - bullpens are pretty damn good today, and deep enough that no-one has to go twice through the order. Maybe if you are lucky in three games you tire out a BP for your opposition's next series - great victory there. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Bad hop....just listen too all the excuses these Tiger employees make when the Tigers can't make a routine play. Excuse after excuse. It gets tiresome. Quote

gehringer_2 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 (edited) there again is what is wrong with the tiger approach. tork took two fastballs for called strike looking for something better, but then ends up topping a change-up because he has to protect with two strikes. Especially with all the umps in the league calling pitches outside for strikes, it's just too suicidal to just hope for mistakes. Edited May 22, 2024 by gehringer_2 Quote

Sports_Freak Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 60+ pitches in 3 innings. Skubal doesn't have his best stuff today. Quote
Tigerbomb13 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Are the Royals this good? These teams don’t even look like they are in the same league. Quote
theroundsquare Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 The Tigers play suggests that after the whippings the past couple nights, they are ready to GTFO of KC Quote
