Of course they did. This coincides with  the move to the B1G.  Very foolish to play this game when you already have at Notre Dame on your OOS schedule and still have a B1G slate that includes at Michigan.  They also first started this before even knowing what the full conference schedule would look like can you imagine if OSU or Oregon were part of the conference rotation.

If the OL comes together, USC will surprise people this year.  If not,  it will be 7-5.

I'm just adding context to that scheduled game.  If USC was worried about the potential Big Ten schedule, perhaps they should have stayed in the PAC-12?

That’s crazy talk from a world long ago when football actually mattered more than money.   The money was much better in the Big Ten so there never was an option to stay.   USC should be playing Akron, Marshall and Western Michigan in addition to Notre Dame.

On the topic of worry.  Has anyone taken a look at the list of projected starting QB’s in the Big Ten?    Wow, that’s an ugly list with a whole lot of question marks.

Has the transfer portal stopped rotating?

It’s closed until the end of the season.  Graduate transfers and anyone that put their name in but didn’t move can still transfer and play in 2024.

I believe players not in the portal can still transfer at any time and not lose a year of eligibility but wouldn’t be able to play this season.  Don’t quote me on that though.

I feel like with the way the courts are moving on this, a player who wanted to transfer right now and play in the fall could probably get an injunction to allow it.

I think transfer rules are heading right out the window.

the way the courts are moving, a guy will be able to play one half for one team, then get a better offer and go over and play for the other team in the second half.

they need binding contracts.  theyve allowed it to become professional sports so it needs professional rules.  and a body/commissioner who will actually look out for the interests of the game.

yup. But they will deny reality as long as they can because they also know full well that the minute that football and maybe Basketball are admitted to be fully professional, control of the system by the schools becomes superfluous - the new structure will need it's own professional management system - like a commissioner/league office etc and there is no reason for anyone at any of the schools to have any direct voice in that administration/management. I see the school admins being dealt out in the end - or maybe just reduced to just making appointments of members to some other management board..

football will break off.  form their own group.

the ratings this year are going to be bonkers.  michigan texas?  usc michigan?  ohio state oregon?  texas texas am?  oklahoma alabama?

theyre going to want a full slate of that.  no more clemson north carolina bull****.

two 20 team divisions, just like the nfl.

Part II of This shouldn’t be surprising since anything and everything has a price in college athletics.

wait until private equity ends up owning the florida state seminoles football program.  that will be interesting.

deion sanders is not a leader.  he's an narcissistic, immature, ass hole.

they may stumble into some wins here and there because he's able to charm a bunch of 18 year olds and pay them NIL money, but it wont be a successful program.

and once his kid is gone he'll lose interest.  deion doesnt want to work, he just wants the spotlight.  that will become apparent to people after a while and they'll stop wanting to be with him.

Deion is absolutely a leader.  He’s the lead actor on a TV show called Coach Prime.  That’s the reason that he’s at Colorado.  He needs to be a head coach to have his own show and it needs to be at a place where he’s bigger than the program.
