RandyMarsh Posted January 3 Posted January 3 If Michigan got Riley Leonard I wouldn't rule out them being in this spot. They still lose to Texas and likely Oregon but I think they have a real shot to win the rest of the games. If so having wins against USC, Washington, Indiana, Illinois and OSU with your only 2 losses being to top 5 teams probably gets you in the playoff. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Ohio State, Penn State, Texas and Notre Dame? Yuck. I'm out Quote

buddha Posted January 3 Posted January 3 i'm waiting for them to challenge any eligibility rules. the only one i can really see standing up is that you have to be enrolled in the school. but schools have had players who are "in graduate school" playing. in theory, what is stopping michigan from paying a guy to be "working toward his phd" from playing until he's 30? Yup. It seems it can only continue to devolve into increasing chaos until one of two things happen - it will either be along the lines you've suggested: a player's union and a CBA; or Congress establishes a legal framework for amateur sports, though that would have been much easier before the intervening court decisions that have mucked everything up. There might be enough exhaustion in Congress around all the traditional political battles that I could actually see some erstwhile political enemies cooperating on something like this that has no obvious red/blue side to it. But probably wishful thinking..... Quote
Hongbit Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 This is brilliant! More bottom of the roster players should do it. 1 Quote

Mr.TaterSalad Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Ohio State scores early. I really hope Texas doesn't let this game get away from them. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 11 Posted January 11 If Ohio State wins the National Championship, I can’t decide if I’ll get the Ohio Staters in my life a “University of Michigan back-to-back National Championship” apparel, or “Ohio State University 2024 4th Place in Big Ten” apparel. The former will piss them off more, but I think the latter is funnier. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Texas finally shows up on offense and their defense immediately gives up 75 yards on a screen play. Quote
IdahoBert Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I don’t have any real skin in this contest and I don’t much like any team from Texas but anyone who beats Ohio State is OK to me. 1 Quote
