Deleterious Posted June 11, 2024 Author Posted June 11, 2024 JJ was never a lock. The Lakers never even interviewed JJ. The feeling is that Shams was pumping JJ based totally on info provided to him by JJ's agent. Woj has been much better on this. He said JJ is in the mix but LA is starting to bring in other candidates for interviews. Quote

He had nothing to do with Vogel. Zero to do with Ham. And if he was making decisions, Hurley never gets an offer. It is also rumored that the Lakers are Luke warm on JJ because AD doesn't care for him. LeBron does get coaches fired. But other than Lue, he rarely gets involved with the hiring process they way he could. Quote

Hongbit Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 He likes to gambles too much to retire this young. He doesn’t have MJ money. He’ll be back when he needs to refill his bankroll. Quote

buddha Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 the bulls are morons. now they have to pay giddey to be a homeless man's demar derozan while they pay max money to the real demar derozan. Quote
Betrayer Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Great trade for OKC. If Caruso can stay healthy, he helps a playoff team. Giddy never impressed me. Always just felt like a rich man's Killian Hayes. Quote

It's that or pay the extremely over rated Caruso. I would pay Giddey 10 times out of 10. Especially if that shot continues to improve. Caruso is like Bruce Brown. Nice on a cheap deal. A disaster at $20m plus. Quote

They were offered a top 10 pick this year for him. Giddey is better than that. They got a 21 year old starter for a 30 year old career backup. Big win for Chicago. Especially for a team that doesn't have a true distributor. And he was sat for his defense. He shot 35% from three in the playoffs, which is more than fine. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 Yep. People are basing their reactions off of last years offers. Like Sam said, you pay more for two playoff runs than you do for one. Giddey is a top 3 pick in this draft easy. Bulls got good value and filled a need with a young player with potential. They did fine. Quote

"obviously CHI had better offers at the deadline." bad use of an asset. 3 months ago you were posting all sorts of **** about giddey and now you think he's a prize? they could have received multiple picks in different drafts at the deadline for caruso and instead chose a guy who is good but about to be very expensive for what he offers. its a bad use of assets. just like troy weaver failed to trade his assets at their peak value to accumulate future assets, the bulls have dithered on trading a good role player for maximum value and instead received nothing more than an expensive ticket to the play-in round. I posted he ****ed a 15 year old. That has nothing to do with his basketball skills. And I'm not saying he is a star, just a better or at least equal to an overrated Caruso. Maybe they should have traded him at the deadline. But that has no bearing on this trade. Chicago did good for what Caruso is worth now. Quote
