I had no idea. I have spent the last 50 years in the Mountain West away from local Detroit radio and Detroit area newspapers and this is something I never picked up on. I don’t know if I would’ve learned this if I was still reading the Sporting News assiduously as I did when I was a kid, but I stopped doing that a long time ago.
