Not sure if I've heard of that site before, interesting.  I haven't had time to dig into any prospects myself so I can't really judge anything, but I'm with buddha based on the description without really knowing anything haha.

 

I see the score has them taking a winger as well but Carter Bear.  His description does feel a little Yzerman-y to me.  It feels like the Wings are in on late risers in mocks a lot so it'll be interesting to see what shakes out.

Sorry, didn't see your post before posting in another thread. This isn't really Larkin's style, so he (and by extension teammates) must feel quite strongly about it.

perhaps he should call out tarasenko and gustafsson for the complete garbage seasons they had?  maybe point the finger at ras or holl for being totally ineffectual almost all season long?

don't be unrealistic, no player or captain can throw his mates under the bus - at least not without the prior decision of management to be rid of those players - which does not seem to be forthcoming. The better players on this team have a right to be PO'd. Two full years of nothing but backward moves from management at the pro level can't be making anyone in the room happy. In the light of what was said today, letting Larkin and Raymond go to 4 Nations and get a taste of what playing with an actual NHL quality roster was like was probably the worst thing that could have happened to this team.

It certainly gives a look into the mood of the locker room, and into Larkin’s self-evaluation that he needs help and is not good enough on his own to lead a team into the playoffs.

No one is good enough to lead a team into the playoffs on their own.  Add a scoring LW with some edge to play alongside Larkin and Raymond and a legit top 4 LHD with some physicality and this is a playoff team

Look at Mario's early years in Pittsburgh. He was at the top of his ability, the team was finishing 5th and 6th

gavrikov is a legitimate top 4 defenseman who would help.  but you have to overpay him to get him out of LA.

even with that, its much more plausible than marner.

i think they have a legit LW to play on the top line with larkin/raymond:  marko kasper.

go get your dman to push chairot to 3rd pair where he will be good.  bring up danielson and mazur. buy out tarasenko.  let berggren walk.  bring back kane on a $4m deal.  get gavrikov for $6 and tavares for $7.

I'd rather see them let Kane go - he's on a down hill run is isn't the player they really need - but I know they will sign him.

kane was one of their better players this year and a big reason why debrincat got 39 goals and their power play was one of the best in the league.  i dont see why next year would be any different.  if they let him go i see it as the same as letting ghost walk and then bringing in the walmart version in gustafsson.

if youre replacing kane with ehlers, that's one thing (although they are very different players), but if youre just moving up berggren or bringing in another $2m washed up reclamation project then youre better off with kane.

speaking of ehlers, do we really need to spend $8m on a smallish winger who has trouble playing 70 games a year and is about to be 30?  it will tell me what type of team you want to be.  do you want to be big and "hard to play against"?  if so, you dont sign ehlers.  sign ehlers if you want to play with speed and possession.

Because he will be 37, his even strength goals are trending down, his takeaways are trending down, his give-ways are trending up and they will probably over pay, other than that, no reason.

I would re sign Kane...if they don't they have to find two top six forwards.  I would love to sign Tavares...Make him the 1C and let Larkin play wing or bounce the two of them around like they did with the Euro twins back when they were really good.

Although Lombardi might be good enough to force the issue a bit.  I'd love to see Mazur and Danielson force their way onto the roster next year on the bottom six with Copp, Ras (who I would be open to including in a trade for a LHD) and Compher.

i would love to trade ras too, but who would want him?  he's a passenger on most nights.  aimlessly skating around and not doing much of anything but being big and occasionally getting in the way.

but i guess if there was an organization dumb enough to give justin holl 3×3 there's probably someone dumb enough to take rasmussen for a late round pick.
