More parity=good, less parity=bad. Is there an ideal ceiling where relative parity is close enough to be acceptable, I'm sure. Would the parity be acceptable without the CBT, or some similar mechanism, absolutely not. So, I'd rather keep the CBT ceiling low and find other means to bring players salaries up to a fair level, and one of the better ways to do that is to create a level playing field so that all teams can fairly compete, when you just keep putting the richer clubs farther ahead in their ability to outspend the other teams, you are just exacerbating the problem, not solving it.

I don’t see how there is even a parity problem given the fact 24 different teams have been in the playoffs since 2016.

I also don’t see the difference between parity with a CBT in place and parity without a CBT in place. If there’s parity either way, then what’s the real problem?

It could be.  I am just pointing out that I don't agree with the assumption that parity is always good.

Having every team within earshot of 83 wins and 14 of them making the playoffs will be a blast to watch.  Everybody gets a trophy. It’s the American way. No winners or losers.

I honestly don't care about the CBT or any of that financial stuff.  The difference between what the two sides want is not going to affect me as a fan.  I want to hear about the playoffs, the pitch clock and the shift.

They are going to have sponsorship patches on uniforms.  That sounds like another thing I won't like.  Hopefully, they will be small.

That’s why I hate the owners. The way they squeeze every last nickel yet complain that everything is unfair.

They are the ones who locked them out and the reason we have no baseball right now.  There’s no reason they couldn’t have made them this offer 10 days ago.  They didn’t have to be drama queens.  Maybe they needed to see what Apple was going to do for them or Chris Ilitch’s coke supplier threatened to hold out.

I agree with you, the playoff structure and game play are what I consider the priorities to me as a fan.  The money is too big for me to be concerned about.  I don't think anyone is worth $30M/season, but I sure as hell would take it if offered.  And I don't want to hear the owners crying poor; sell the team and get out if its that bad.

I would like to see minor leaguers taken care of better financially, but that's not going to be a part of this CBA.  MLB wants to have more control over the minor leagues.  It would seem like the MLBPA would be wise to help establish a union for the group of baseball players that could actually use some improved salaries, but that ain't gonna happen.

I want to see the current service time loophole taken care of.  I think I consider that a financial aspect as it has been used as a mechanism by trading a handful of games for an extra season of team control.

They locked them out because the players were rightfully prepared to strike.  The owner's would have been happy to play on the previous deal.  There are very few of these changes that are improvements to the owner's.
