Richardson is benched.

He benched himself! Steichen must have had a dozen guys come to him and complain.

”Oh you need a breather? Take until the end of the season.”

I’m going to be one of the few people to give Richardson the benefit of the doubt. Out of breath is one thing. However, have you ever been out of breath but also your heart is beating rapidly, out of control. It can feel scary until that settles down. True, Richardson didn’t state that as the reason though.

Richardson was the youngest starting QB in the NFL last year. After getting hurt last year, he came into this year….. as the youngest starting QB in the NFL. If the Colts didn’t think the kid needed coaching they were fooling themselves. He probably shouldn’t have started this season, and definitely shouldn’t have started last season.

If anything the lesson to be learned is to not tap yourself out, but just go down. Then you have to go out one play.

So the Vikings lose a key lineman 6 days ago and already replaced him. Meanwhile the lions have now gone two games and going on 3 weeks since they lost hutch and haven’t done anything.  OT might even be harder to replace than a DE mid season.

There's an article on ESPN breaking down Richardson's accuracy issues and it concluded that yeah he isn't Drew Brees or even an average QB when it comes to accuracy but he may not be as inaccurate as the raw numbers(completion percentage) indicate. They found the main culprit for the low number is the type of throws he makes. He doesn't make many check down or easy throws that boost accuracy numbers but instead tries to make the hero throw every time.

Did the same thing in college which is why NFL teams thought that his accuracy numbers would improve in the NFL with better coaching and just more football maturity to him. Thus far it hasn't been the case at all.

A guy on X posted all the incompletions from the Texans game and very few of them were because he just whiffed on an easy throw, most were either drops by the receivers, balls deflected by the defense or throws that very few NFL QBs could possibly complete.

I love the "game chainsaw" bit, also got a kick out of them freaking out that Flores thinks they are all Tua.

Edit: Just re-watched it and I didn't notice at first that the chainsaw DC is using is branded as a "Black and TAYLOR Decker" lol

So the Jets are on Prime time again tonight. I've never seen such a horrible team get so many prime time games. It's almost like they're trying to turn off all the casual NFL fans. Who want to watch a team that's going to lose 10+ games this season? Ridiculous.

Come on…you must know why the schedule was set as it is.

The NFL will never learn that outside of the Cowboys and maybe now the Chiefs the team or market you put in prime time has little to no effect on ratings, instead what drives ratings is the actual quality of the teams, importance of the games and just how close the games are.

So by putting crappy NY teams in prime time is only hurting their ratings, not helping.

Yeah, I get it. An old and washed up QB who lucked into a single championship years ago is the only draw. Rodgers has a lot of big stats but very little success teamwise. Most of the country wants to see him scowl...

That's not true in the slightest.

Market drives the ratings. Espn provided data as much a few years ago in an column I can't find. Even when they the Steelers, Giants, etc are bad they sill far outdraw good teams from a small market. For example, Amazon prime averages 11.some odd million views for football. Cowboys-Giants a few weeks back, 16.6. Broncos Saints before that? 9.9

The data I looked at last year didn't conclude that, the only team that drew any real difference the past several years were the Cowboys.

Looking at numbers the past couple and it appears the Chiefs are now joining them but they are also the 2 time champ who's games almost always have playoff implications so that is a big reason why.

People want to see good teams in close games. I won't even waste my time watching a meaningless Jet game. Maybe I'll check the score later in the game but I could care less if the Jets win or lose. And I love football. Amazon Prime has games that stink for the last couple of seasons. Terrible matchups.

Lol one year.

Try looking at a bigger sample size, 18-49 and market share over a decade. Then let me know what you find.

This moran on the Jets dropped the ball before crossing the goal line. Cut him before he reaches the sideline.

Edit: FWIW I think it is lame that they reviewed a play like that. The NFL is way over-officiated. But they should call that guy an Uber and send him home now.
