I hate the Chiefs. Never have I seen a luckier team than them. Their luck is seemingly endless. Tonight, they get a Harrison Butker FG doink off the crossbar and it goes the right direction and is good. Every other team would have missed that kick and it would have doinked out.

Hot Seat

  1. Doug Pederson: good as gone
  2. Antonio Pierce: should be gone
  3. Mike McCarthy: the children are running the day care, I hope he gets extended
  4. Raheem Morris: if I was a Falcons fan I would want him gone
  5. Zac Taylor: this is where I would want to go if I am Ben Johnson

If Zac Taylor gets let go, I would like to bring him in as offensive coordinator if Ben Johnson leaves. Remember, Taylor was the Rams QB coach in 2017 and 2018, Goff's best years with the Rams. When he left and McVay became DeFacto QB coach, Goff regressed. I wouldn't mind reuniting them. I don't think the Bengals will let go of Taylor since that is not how they operate. On the field they would be a good fit for Johnson, but they have a cheap owner, and I just don't know if the ownership/GM is what Johnson is looking for.

I have to wonder about Mike McDaniel. That Dolphins team is soft. He reminds me of a modern day Wayne Fontes. I also feel like Stefanski should make the list. Some heads are going to roll for the Watson debacle. The owner can't fire himself.

This is a good addition, and I agree entirely with your assessment. Watching that game against the Packers, they were just the antithesis of a Dan Campbell team.

I don't get the GB love fest compared to Minnesota. I think if you're gonna put GB on the SB tier then the Vikings should be there as well.

I think it’s more about Darnold having a Goff like narrative from two years ago where people aren’t buying into him and waiting for his demise to happen.

It's the eye test for me. The Vikings beat the Jags by 5, Titans by 10, and should have lost to both the Bears and Cardinals.

I think they're a well coached team, but the defense is faltering, and the offense is not on an elite level. Compared to the Packers, who have a better offense (IMO), better defense (IMO), and are equally well coached.

There's also something to be said about the "quality of wins" I guess, I mean they beat:

  • 2-11 Giants
  • 6-7 49ers
  • 8-5 Texans
  • 9-4 Packers
  • 3-10 Jets
  • 6-7 Colts
  • 3-10 Jaguars
  • 3-10 Titans
  • 4-9 Bears
  • 6-7 Cardinals
  • 6-7 Falcons

So they've only beat two teams with a winning record. That said... one of those two teams they beat where the Packers and they're listed in the "SB contender" tier and the ONLY team that the Pack as beat with a winning record is the Texans so the same argument against the Vikings applies also to the Packers. Either the Vikings should be in the SB contender tier or the Packers shouldn't.

In case anyone is curious how the Lions stack up here, they have beat:

  • 7-6 Rams
  • 8-5 Seahawks
  • 11-2 Vikings
  • 9-4 Packers (x2)
  • 8-5 Texans

So we've got a number of wins over winning programs this season.

The Vikings have a KILLER end of the season. They'll either show themselves are not ready or prove the nay-sayers wrong. Next week is a cake-walk hosting the Bears, but then they go to Seattle, host the Packers and of course finish against us in Detroit.

I would predict they lose 2 of 3 to end the season, maybe even all three. If they win two of three and finish 14-3 it's hard to deny them as a real threat, but 13-4 is exactly what they were in the 2022 season when they were exposed as frauds and knocked out by the Giants in the wildcard round.

If both they and the Lions go 3-0, it likely sets up a really weird scenario where a game between the 15-1 1st place Lions and 14-2 2nd place Vikings means nothing for either team, because the Lions will have the #1 seed locked up and the Vikings will have the #5 seed locked up. I expect that if that happens we will see the Lions rout them in week 18, because they will have a game and the NFC South (or maybe West) Champion the next week and be taking it a little easy, while the Lions will have a bye the following week and be Dan Campbelling it into the playoffs.

I think Arnold is gonna be a special one. Between his natural ability, mentality and maybe most importantly coming into the league and receiving top notch coaching from day 1 to compliment his other gifts.

Our old friend, Amani Oruwariye.

I don't even know this rule. So if no Cowboy had touched it across scrimmage, then it's just Cowboy's ball where ever it stops or is downed by Cinci?
