His teams always seem to have just enough defense to win every single close game. It's really amazing in today's NFL, where one call or play can decide a game. Quote

lordstanley Posted January 27 Posted January 27 It was was a classic. The two top teams. Tons of recent history against each other. Lead changes and momentum swings. 4th down conversions and 4th down stops. Quote

CBS had their expert official talk about it during the broadcast. He said the official rule is that Patrick Mahomes is afforded an extra second that he’s allowed to use whenever it benefits him. The storylines are going to be similar in September as they were this past September. KC, even with so many close wins, is king until they get taken down. Allen can’t beat Mahomes in playoffs. Lamar is better in the regular season. Lions are knocking on the door but need to take next step. Love isn’t the proven successor to Favre and Rodgers. The Cowboys disappoint. Bears are busted until showing otherwise. This season really hasn’t changed anything yet, nothing new has broken through. 3 Quote
Jason_R Posted January 27 Posted January 27 As I understand it, the Lions have pick 1:28, 2:60, comp pick in 3rd round, a 4th, a 6th, and two 7ths. I hope they use them all on defensive lineman. Quote

It is hard to fault the coaching when they literally had an entire starting defense — that would have been a top 15 unit, including the runaway candidate for DPOY — on IR at the end of the season. Yes, but even before so many went down, the pass rush kind of disappeared after Hutch got hurt. Too reliant on one guy. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted January 27 Posted January 27 The Lions still had one of the better pass rushes even without Hutchinson. They weren't finishing but the Lions ranked in the top in pressures. Quote

Sports_Freak Posted February 2 Posted February 2 And John Harbaugh had comments about Watson when he was accused; Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Tucker was one of the worst kickers in the NFL last year. Only Jake Moody and Dustin Hopkins had a worse FG% with 25+ attempts. They'll release him because it kills two birds with one stone. They can claim a holier than thou position on the conversation (even though if the accusations had come out a year ago they'd have been the first to call for a hold on judgement). And then they can try to recoup money, despite him being under a large contract (for a kicker) through 2027. Win-win for the Ravens, even though they're no better than the rest. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Considering using electronics to measure first downs next year. Wait, the league owners will vote 31-1 to do this, but the 1 hold out will be you know who and they'll say. If you change it, we won't let Tay Tay come to the games anymore. The Fox first down line was started in what, 1994? Wait to be on that NFL. Censors can be put into both tips of the ball and embedded under the laces on the fatest part of the ball. When that ball crosses that line, a light should go off automatically, maybe something that surrounds the shot clock. Also, no reason that there should not be a visible line on the field that the players can see. I understand the drama of pulling out the chains, but it slows down the game too much and then you won't be questioned whether you gave the Chiefs the better spot. Quote

He's about 40% of what he used to be. But why are we surprised. I know it's a kicker, but these athletes, in all major sports, are treated like Gods and are having adults kiss up to them as early as 14 years old. They can do no wrong. You hear that enough and you start believing this. Add to that this anti-woman direction this country's going in and I don't get surprised by any of this crap anymore. We love sports, it's a bond between a lot of people here, but you really need to admit that most of the people involved in sports, especially football, are horrible human beings 1 Quote
