I could see Pete Carroll resurfacing for a team that is ready to contend (Eagles perhaps?), but not a total gut job like Jacksonville. They foolishly signed Lawrence after a down year when they basically 3 more years to evaluate him.

I think Ben Johnson may head to the Eagles, if he leaves this year. That's a team with all the pieces in place but the coach.

I do think Hurts is overrated but I would be intrigued by what Johnson can do with him. Hurts doesn't seem to make any pre-snap adjustments and has become more of just a runner and deep ball thrower. I would like to see Johnson do what the Lions did with Goff in making pre-snap reads and adjustments.

I'm not even confident the 49ers win the division. If they don't, they likely miss the playoffs. Luckily for them the West is not very good and their only competition is Seattle.

This has kind of been their MO in recent years. They like to start shaky and then go on a tear.

That said, I don't think they're as good as they were the last two years.

Kevin Stefanski winning Coach of the Year over DeMeco Ryans last year proves to be the wrong decision. The Browns are 1-6 and falling fast. The Texas are still a damn good team and lead their division at 5-2.

Anyone other than Dan Campbell winning it was a mistake.    He's made the Lions into the best team in the NFC.   The Lions -- where coaches went to die.

If Stefanski survives today. he can maybe get his team to rally around DTR or Jameis Winston and maybe they'll respond.   They've got games @ Philly,  vs. Balto,  the Chargers the next 3 weeks.   Not looking good.

COTY is a weird award because you have to win when it's unexpected. So if you improve gradually like the Lions, it's ships passing in the night.

Looking at the last ten years of winners though - Ron Rivera, Bruce Arians, Ron Rivera, Jason Garrett, Sean McVay, Matt Nagy, John Harbaugh, Kevin Stefanski, Mike Vrabel, Brian Daboll, Kevin Stefanski - maybe it's best Campbell doesn't win it. Of all those winners, John Harbaugh is probably the only one happy right now.

That's a good point... It an odd one like come-back player of the year. In order to win it you gotta be good, but you also had to have been bad (or hurt) last year.

This is not magic!  This is what is wrong with the game.  Total BS that he’s gaming the rules the league created for the sole purpose of protecting him.

This play needs to banned immediately in the same way as the fake slide.

An SF defensive back needed to lay him out at the tail end of the run. It sounds bad and would start a fight, but that’s what he’s asking for running like that.

I don’t think there’s a way to write this out of the rules. The boundary lines are what they are. Just need to let him get smoked at the edge of the boundary and not have it be a penalty. He’s a runner, he’ll be treated like one.

And also a note for Adam Schefter - the “Magic of Mahomes” this year has more picks than TDs through seven weeks. Tied for the league lead in interceptions.

Once you leave the pocket and run you should no longer be treated as a QB, if any non QB is a hair out of bounds and gets hit there rarely is a flag called but if its a QB there either always is or it causes an uproar that one wasn't called.

Are you saying the pump fake beyond the line of scrimmage?
