I know this looks bad but this actually a really smart veteran play.    He ran out of bounds on his own and can’t touch the ball again without a penalty.  He’s the closest WR to Caleb so the ball may have been coming his way so DJ smartly takes himself out of the play  and gives Caleb a chance to convert somewhere else.

Yes, I agree it does look bad, and I saw he's limping.  And I disagree it was a smart veteran play. He turned his back to the field, went to the bench while the play was still in progress. He can block. Last thing he should do is bail, he gave up.

DJ Moore walks off the field and sits on the bench while the play is still going on. Eberflus has lost the team.

I knew Eberflus was a bad coach after I watched his team turtle into its shell up 12 on the Lions in Ford Field last season. The game where the Lions, down 12, scored 16 points in less than three minutes.

I hope he stays in Chicago for another decade.

He probably shouldn’t have walked all the way to the bench but removing himself from the play was smart.  If he doesn’t the ball is probably coming his way and a penalty ensues.z

Moore was asked after the game if Eberflus lost the team and Moore said I would say no. Not exactly a confident answer.

I don't know, I didn't see the whole play. But a player going out of bounds can touch the ball once he re-establishes himself in bounds. I don't know what that means.

I think it means you have to take three steps and then you become eligible again, but don't quote me, reception rules change faster than I keep up.

Bucs hanging in there at KC, tied at 17 early in the 4th.  If the Bucs were to pull this one out they would stake claim to giving the Chiefs and Lions their only losses of the year and doing it at their respective stadiums as well. Pretty impressive.

In bigger news from the game, Mahomes looks to have tweaked his ankle or something, came up real lame on that game tying TD and needed help getting off the field. Replays didn't look too good but ankle/foot injuries are hard to gauge to me. Sometimes they look real bad yet the guy just gets it taped up and comes back in and is ok so who knows.

Mahomes really is a warrior. The guy takes punishment and keeps playing. Very high pain threshold.

Dan Campbell never would have let a coin toss decide that game.

Yup. Until the rules change to the point where both teams get a guaranteed possession in OT I feel like you have to go for 2 when down 1 late against an elite team.

If you're facing the Titans then sure go for the tie cause even if you lose the coin toss you're still likely to get the ball back with a chance to win but against a team like the Chiefs, Ravens, Lions etc. I'm taking my chances at gaining 3 yards for the win vs. letting a coin toss heavily influence the outcome of the game.

Yeah no way Campbell doesn't go for 2 there.  On the road to the only undefeated team who are the two time SB champions and with MaHomes as their QB.  These coaches just don't have the balls to face the media if it doesn't work like he does.

I think 27 seconds with 3 KC timeouts is right on the border  of where I’d go for it. Hence the tv crew’s criticism of Tampa’s decision to call a quick timeout when they got a 1st down at the one. One advantage of being tied is that the offense will be more conservative than if they were trailing by one. For example, if they were down by 1 KC would have gone for it on 4th and 1 and likely made it instead of punting it away with 15 seconds to go. That’s less of a risk if you kick off when up 1 with only 20 seconds to go and only 1 timeout.

He also would have had better clock management. Tampa left way too much time for Mahomes...but they still held them to get to OT.
