I think 27 seconds with 3 KC timeouts is right on the border  of where I’d go for it. Hence the tv crew’s criticism of Tampa’s decision to call a quick timeout when they got a 1st down at the one. One advantage of being tied is that the offense will be more conservative than if they were trailing by one. For example, if they were down by 1 KC would have gone for it on 4th and 1 and likely made it instead of punting it away with 15 seconds to go. That’s less of a risk if you kick off when up 1 with only 20 seconds to go and only 1 timeout.

Even had Bowles gone for two and got it, how shocked would anyone have been if Mahomes got KC in FG range with 27 seconds and 2 TO.  Not very.  I think most of us would be surprised if 15 didn’t get them there in that situation.    The right play was probably to go OT and bet on the coin toss.

I don't like kicks into the end zone being placed at the 30 yard line. Between that and kickers' longer ranges these days, you really only need about 20-25 yards to get into the fringe of FG range of some kickers. Even if you're left with time for only one or two plays before a FG attempt, you have a shot now.

The point that Stanley brought up about the time remaining and how it automatically turns it into 4 down territory if you are down 1 makes me rescind my previous point about going for 2.

I still feel you should go for it if there was less time and the choice was essentially a guaranteed win with a 2pt make or OT with a kick. But with the amount of time left for this one that wasn't the case especially with Mahomes and the Chiefs offense in guaranteed 4 down and aggressive territory.

With the tie they are far more likely to play more conservative knowing that worst case scenario is overtime.

Not saying the NFL is "rigged", but more and more I do believe that the field is tilted one way or the other    That used to go against the Lions, but with the Lions pulling in huge numbers whenever on national tv, I do think the leaguer probably will tilt things our way.   I think the league wants to see Lamar vs. Mahomes again in the AFC championship.    I do think there is a "look the other way" edict for certain teams.   With the Lions being the real "America's Team" we could benefit, but just seeing the Chiefs tackle False Starting several times and not getting called and then the missed calls last night, I do wonder.   It is entertainment dressed up as sports.

Can’t post the tweet but DraftKings had to decrease revenue guidance by $250M as a result of “customer friendly sports outcomes”  aka NFL favorites are winning.   October was the worst month in company history for NFL betting.

I think DK will manage as this change means revenue will drop to $5 Billion for the year.

What a change from a year ago.

Yeah, I don’t know if he is right but he is not obviously wrong. And the coverage includes the LBs too. PFF has Jack Campbell as its sixth best coverage LB.

Yeah I think people that only watch Lions games get frustrated with our secondary when they get a penalty or a big play happens.  Problem is this is a passing league and its very hard to stop these top guys.  Greenbay has one of the best secondaries in the league and look what we did to them.  This is year has been drastically better.  I love the aggression even though it leads to penalties sometime.  Last year there would be a couple of plays a game were Sutton was 5-10 yards from the receiver.  Our penalties have slowed down as well.
