smr-nj Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 It’s pretty hilarious that Tommy Cutlets gets to finish the rest of the Giants season… it’s that only thing they have to look forward to. It could be worse…. If you are a Jets fan. 🙂 I’m glad I’ve pretty much stopped watching any area pro footballs games now for years. 1 Quote
RedRamage Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Wow! An SMR sighting in the football forums! And all Lions fans agree: Being a Jets fan right now is about the worst thing you can be. 1 Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Just think, it's not the Lions game that people want flexed out of Thanksgiving. It's the one featuring Cooper Rush and Tommy DeVito. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Turn on MNF to watch referees call penalties on every other play. Exciting stuff...🫣 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 Coach Hot Seat Rankings. 1. DOUG PEDERSON, Jacksonville. Can't believe it hasn't happed yet. But as of 8:28pm, nothing. 2. MATT EBERFLUS, Chicao. Cade Williams is getting pretty good, they can't risk wasting his talents with a terrible coach any longer. Ben Johnson might be the leading candidate for this job next year. 3. BRIAN DABOLL, NY Giants. That first year was so rainbows and unicorns. Wow, did THAT blow up fast. There will be an annoying amount of shots of Tommy DeVito's agent tonight. More than Kurt Warner's wife in the Super Bowl. 4. MIKE McCARTHY, Dallas. If they lose their 5th in a row, would Jerry do it mid-season? I have my doubts about that. 5. KEVIN STEFANSKI, Cleveland. Coach of the Year in April, Shot down in May. People were saying dark horse Super Bowl contender. Horse had to be shot. 6. ANTONIO PIERCE, Las Vegas. How many Head Coaches can the Raiders pay at one time. Never underestimate the Raiders ability to shoot themselves in the foot. Get ready for Ryan Day ! Yeah, that's a ridiculous take, but it's entirely possible with the Raiders. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 The hangover effect after playing the Lions is nullified by playing Dallas your next game. 14-0 Texans late in the first. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 If Dallas wants to beat Houston, they need to throw 4 more INTs. Good news for them is that they are more than capable of doing that. 1 Quote
Tenacious D Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 The next best thing to a Lions win is another embarrassing Cowboys home loss on national TV. Mike McCarthy looks hapless and Jerry looks like he’s drinking to forget. Thank God for Dan and Brad. Finally, we have the adults in charge. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 Aaron Rodgers is 3-8 and the Cowboys are 3-7. 6-15. That's beautiful. 1 Quote

In somewhat fairness to the 'Boys... they've had a lot of injury issues. Especially with Prescott out now you can't expect them to be very successful. I imagine that without all the injury problems they'd be twice as good... yeah... 4-6 sounds right. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Douglas had a good rebuild going, and ownership foisted Aaron Rodgers on him, who took over the organization, and now Douglas takes the fall. Quote

How much you wanna bet Rodgers retires after this year because he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild. He wanted to go to a contender and now the Jets aren't that so... Quote

Douglas made the wrong decision drafting Zach Wilson as his franchise QB and then had to pivot to Rodgers. I think both moves were mistakes on his part. Quote

That was on Woody Johnson, and Rodgers was given control of the team by Johnson. Quote

Ayahuasca Tea will be available at every 7-11. Just make sure you have a working toilet near by. He'll probably find a way to give the Lions food poisoning before the Super Bowl. Quote

According to some of the fans on the Jets board Douglas actually wanted to draft Sewell in that draft but ownership overruled him in favor of getting a QB. Not sure how much truth there is to that but it wouldn't surprise me. Quote

I think my number 1 choice that draft was Chase but Sewell 1B and I would've been fine with Surtain or Pitts. I liked Surtain cause I loved the idea of pairing him with Okudah and having 2 stud DBs, of course at the time I still had hopes for Jeff. Also like Slater as a backup option if the Lions wanted tackle and Sewell was gone but felt in that case they could've traded down. Pitts looks like that would've been a disaster so glad that didn't happen. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 I also wouldn't have thrown a fit if they took Fields and at the time I did like him as a prospect but I still had hopes for Goff and wanted to give him a chance and I also just believe in building as much of the rest of your team as you can before drafting a young QB early. Really the only option that seemed plausible at the time that I didn't like was Waddle or Davonte Smith, I just didn't think either was the type of receiver you take that high when you had as many holes as we did, unlike Chase who I felt was a Calvin Johnson/Julio Jones generational type who warranted taking no matter your situation.
