RandyMarsh Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Just now, Motown Bombers said: Wait until he finds out they don't take a receiver all the way until the 4th round. To this day I think my favorite thing from any of the draft videos was in that draft Sheila saying something to Dan and Holmes about drafting a receiver and they said something to the extent of "We have our eye on that guy there(points at board to presumably St. Brown) who we can get a little later." I love it cause for 1 it shows that Sheila had some knowledge about the team and knew one of our holes and was engaged enough to actually ask about it and for another it showed that she also knew to stay out of her lane and trusted the guys she hired to do their job. Jason_R Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Doesn’t Woody Johnson know that Aaron Rodgers is running the franchise!?! Quote
RatkoVarda Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Rogers is going to be pissed when the Jets release him. Don't they know Aaron Rogers releases teams? Teams don't release Aaron Rogers. Now that Tom Brady is part of the Raiders ownership, there is no team that will touch Rogers, so 6 more games to go and then he can go meditate for a decade in darkness. Quote

Lots of wrong people that day! That was when it was the old board and that's all been deleted, but it would be interesting to see the reaction here. I think I liked the pick, but didn't love it. But that could be my own Mandela Effect. Quote

The board was pretty stoked when we got him. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 From what I can remember tp was the only one upset since we didn't take Fields or a "playmaker". Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Being the only Goff believer, I know I was not in on Fields. Never got the Lance hype either. I was pretty happy with Sewell. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 I really liked Mac Jones, not for a team like the Lions were at the time but a team that had was more developed like the 49ers. I felt he had plus accuracy, decision making and ability to read defenses and could step in and right away. Kinda like Stroud did last year. Yep I whiffed on that one.... nothing new. 1 Quote

lordstanley Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 (edited) Snow games are fun to watch. Getting one in November is a bonus. Edited November 22, 2024 by lordstanley 2 Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 While WCF was good for very little, at least he knew how to put a roof on the building. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Pittsburgh is doing the QB platoon I would like to see more teams do. I wouldn't mind having a Fields type as a change of pace from Goff. Quote
sagnam Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 I’d be OK not having a gadget QB taking reps from the guy who can actually read a defense. If he wanted to try to be Gibbs or a slot guy then OK. Quote

Edit to add: Also we already do that... we've had St. Brown and Montgomery throwing passes, so... ya know. Quote

RatkoVarda Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 there's the running back-up QB Holmes has been looking for! (i get it - they don't want to be stuck paying him $23M in 2025 if he gets injured in the last six games - but going from a semi competent QB to Tommy DeVito is nuts) Quote

No one is picking up that contract on waivers. On the open market, I would expect a team like the Raiders, Titans, Cowboys, or Saints to pick him up and give him a five-week tryout for 2025. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 I would keep an eye on the 49ers. Purdy is nursing a shoulder injury. Quote
