Any they very well might be waiting for that. But there's plenty of situations where the NFL has acted BEFORE the court case ended. Cam Sutton, for example. And there's no question Rice was involved... he's admitted to be involved. I supposed I don't know if he's admitted to leaving the scene without checking on the other cars, but he as admitted to being involved.

Are we really so hard up for sports related procedural drama that we want the NFL to establish a parallel legal system? It is already embarrassing that we can’t watch a game anymore without a lawyer in the booth

Cam Sutton was evading a warrant that was issued for his arrest. He had thumbed his nose at the legal system so it makes sense that the NFL acted before the legal system resolved his issue. Rashee Rice appears to be operating within the legal system. Let it work then the NFL can act.

This is what happens when the team you root for is actually a decent team with a decent coaching staff and a decent front office. Gotta find other things to complain about.

Updated Coach hot seat rankings.

Nobody is getting fired before week 5, but.......

I have to have 5, but right not it's really 2.    Other guys making this list are absolutely in trouble, but their team's struggles are more on the front offices than it is on the coaches.

1. Doug Pederson, Jacksonville -  Two division games coming up one in Houston and at home vs. Indy.   They lose both and he's probably out.   He rises to #1 because.......

2. Mike McCarthy, Dallas -  .......Jerry is not reactionary with coaches, he's pretty patient and he loves MM, but his seat will be very hot all season.  He'll survive the season unless the team falls to something like 1-6 or 2-8 - and Dallas is too good fore that to happen.   Do any of you think, like me, that Dak Prescott is just about the most overrated QB in the last couple of decades.    Oh, he's talented, but he is not worthy of that pay.

(very big gap here)

3. Zac Taylor, Cincinnati -    Seems like Cincy's window has already closed.  I don't think it's Taylor's fault so much, but this team has all their eggs in Joe Burrow's basket and he's not the same anymore.  That swagger was great, but it only goes so long like that.

4. Kevin Stefanski, Cleveland -  It's not Kevin's fault they signed that scumbag Watson, but coaches are hired to be fired.  If Kevin goes crazy and benches Watson for Jameis and it works he'll look like a genius, but also piss off Browns ownership who have to keep paying Watson for being a backup.   If they have a Morals Clause in Watson's contract it would probably only kick in after a conviction.

5. Matt Eberflus, Chicago -  Look,  Matt was in trouble last year, so his seat was already a bit warm and you can't blame him if the QB isn't setting the world on fire - he's a rookie and few can do what Stroud did last year, but I think the Bears expect to be in the playoff chase into December.  If they take a step up - he's probably not the guy to do it.

Lurking in the shadows is Robert Saleh - and the only reason is that he has that Prima Donna at QB.  I think Rodgers things he's the coach.   Funny how Green Bay's coach has turned Jordan Love into a really good QB and seems to have shaped Malik Willis into a positive.   Maybe Rodgers wasn't all that great in his last few years in Green Bay.

Carolina within striking distance. I have Burrow, Chase, and Brown on my fantasy team so I'm torn on what I want to happen. On one end, I could use another Cincinnati TD from one of them. Burrow to Chase would be double bonus. On the other hand, the Bengals losing to the worst team in the league means we're one step closer to a firesale and Trey Hendrickson being on the trade block.

Coach Hot Seat Rankings.       (I can do this today since none of the four coaches from tonight are in jeopardy -- yet.

1.  DOUG PEDERSON - JACKSONVILLE -    0-4 start is brutal and people are starting to call Trevor Lawrence a bust.   He was supposed to help develop Trev and he's not improving.   SOJ   Same Old Jags

2. KEVIN STEFANSKI - CLEVELAND  -   1-3 when they should be 3-1.    I feel like the team's not buying in.   I think it's more Watson's fault, but they can't fire Watson.

3. ROBERT SALEH - NY JETS -   I moved him up because apparently there is a big of a fight over cadence now between Aaron Rodgers and Saleh.    My thought has always been that Aaron will get him fired.  Aaron thinks he's the Head Coach.

4. MIKE McCARTHY - DALLAS -   The win got a little of the weight off his shoulders, but a five-point win against a terrible Giants team is not that impressive.

5. NICK SIRIANI - PHILLY -   Because I needed five.    Don't listen to the Philly fans.  You go 16-1 and they bitch about the 1.   But - this team is supposed to be thinking Super Bowl.   Injuries are to blame more than the coach.

1. Doug Pederson: he won't make it to Black Monday at this rate, though no one else on the staff has the resume that really supports getting a chance at a full-time gig. Lawrence is in bust territory, which I always thought was likely based on the unrealistic expectations that were set for him going back to high school.

2. Mike McCarthy: feels like a dead man walking, and has ever since losing to the Packers last year. He doesn't have the roster to make it to the NFC Championship Game, but that's probably what he needs to do to keep his job.

3. Matt Eberflus: the Bears are such a self-perpetuating cycle. Caleb Williams looks like any other rookie QB. They won't win the North and probably won't make the playoffs. So they'll fire Eberflus and install someone else, who probably won't be good either. But hey, maybe in three years they can tank, get the #1 overall pick and trade Williams to the Steelers! Eberflus is a bad coach though who can single-handedly lose games through poor game management. He should have been fired last year.

4. Robert Saleh: sell your soul to the devil and this is what you get. Aaron Rodgers is on the wrong side of his hill, no one in New Jersey wants to admit it, and the Jets will probably blow this up when they fail to make the playoffs. Rodgers to Minnesota next year to complete the Favre career cycle? (Just wait until he embezzles millions from the Mississippi welfare system).

5. Brian Dabboll: this isn't working. Blame Danny Dimes if you want, but Dabboll is the regime that has overseen his regression while failing to find anyone better.

6. Nick Sirianni: they can't lose by 17 to the Bucs and have his seat not be hot. It's early but a .500 finish and wildcard exit (or worse) probably leads to a change in Philly. The seat has been getting warm ever since they collapsed last season, and they don't look much better right now.

7. Dennis Allen: he wasn't a very inspiring hire to begin with, is not a very good coach to end with, and the team has fallen down to Earth since their offensive explosion to start the season. He wasn't setup for success with the way they mismanage the cap there, but if they blow it up in New Orleans, he's probably going down with the ship.

8. Kevin Stefanski: I think Stefanski is pretty safe for now. He just won his second Coach of the Year award, both with the Browns. It would be pretty hard to can him four games, or even just one season, off of that, notwithstanding a truly dreadful . I also think Cleveland leadership, and certainly their fan base, knows that Watson is a major problem, and Stefanski can use him as a scapegoat to a certain extent. They may jettison Watson, Russell Wilson style, next offseason.

Adams would be lethal on the Commanders.

If I'm the Commanders, and I'm sitting atop the NFC East, I'm making this trade. Adams paired with Terry McLaurin would be a hard to stop two headed monster at WR. Given how good Jayden Daniels has looked out of the gate I think the Commanders are a team that could keep this play up and make the playoffs.
