"I developed a condition that prevents me from playing baseball but allows me an otherwise fairly normal life" is a lot better than "I developed a condition that continues to get worse and will destroy my normal life." I don't know that anyone has ever said which he's dealing with, which is their right of course...... I remember what Nick Esasky said about his Vertigo. That even after it went away he would get this strange feeling like it was about to strike in certain situations and his heart would start pounding and he felt vertigo-like symptoms and it just plagued him

It's got to suck to get over something only to have it haunt you. I guess Josh Pachal of the Lions just got that scare the last few weeks a cancer scare. Tenacious D
We should target Brent Rooker. The A’s like to trade away their stars in their prime. If we sign a 3B, we can package Jace Jung with a few others.

I would like the Tigers to acquire position players that can benefit the club at the plate and in the field. It doesn't seem Rooker is that. One thing I liked about Dombrowski is that his heavy moving (free agent signings and trades) were all done by Thanksgiving. I liked that approach. But I think most of the big moves in baseball were usually done by then. There's been a major shift in that within the last decade. It was more fun the old way. I’m always disappointed. My preference is aiming higher than Jake Burger. .301 OBP. What was all that talk about knowing the strike zone again? Plus .925 at 3b. Really? I heard that today and I was flattened again. Tork was a .295 OBP. This is some kind of improvement. Geez, even a fading Paul Goldschmidt could be a mentor for Tork. My fear was because they made the playoffs, ownership would say "well, we did it LAST year without spending". My hope was Manea/Danny Jansen/Pete Alonso. One of them. One big name. My expectations are more like Quintana/Pivetta/Carson Kelly/Jose Iglesias or a quickly fading Paul Goldschmidt. Even that expectation feels like it's lowering daily. Quintana would be fine, need another starter and a lefty, Carson Kelly is fine because he already knows the coach, staff and team and Jose Iglesias has become a very good singles hitter that can platoon at SS/3B with Sweeney & Co. He's turned into Mr. One-Year Contract. Fine. Can we just be in the conversation for one of the Top 15 guys? Not speculation by writers, but actually IN the conversation. Not expecting Adames. Don't want him with the money/time he'll cost. But there HAS to be someone better than Javier Baez, because he's the worst starting player over the last two years........worst in all of baseball. Just a Band-Aid with the hope that McGonigle is what they say he is in two years. I feel like another Canha-like offseason is coming. You own every parking lot in the city, Chris. You can raise your parking lot prices 2 dollars to pay for it. Please, PLEASE prove me wrong. As Truman Burbank's wife screams out "DO SOMETHING !" I have my doubts about them locking him up. I just fear we go the Tampa Bay way and anytime someone is in line for a pay boost, it's bye-bye. You can do that in Tampa where you have a ****ty fan base, you can't do that here. We're way more into this.
