I think he would depending on what happens with his team this year.  I don't think GMs have the same emotional response to a player choosing another team that fans do.  I don't think he believed that he was being used.  If he did, he would have dropped out pretty quickly.

I agree these two Hinch and Harris appear to be high-speed low-drag in terms of the emotional part.  Where i would think Harris might part ways with Bregman’s reps is if he felt he was wasting time he could have used elsewhere.  So, that’s where i was coming from re the desire to sail the seas of Boras unless there’s definitely treasure there.

but which last year, the 1st half or the 2nd? They were two completely different teams last year.

But not as different as the records indicated

Well, the Tigers finished the season on a 31-13 streak. Over .700 baseball. Not many teams have that good of a streak in a season. As amazing as it was, it took the Twins losing almost as much as we were winning for us to pass them to make the playoffs. It really was an amazing end to last season. But as fans, we can't expect them to keep up that winning percentage. We can hope and root for it, but not many fans actually expect it.

Did baseball reference get rid of, or change, the feature where you could highlight one row, then another, then you get the results/totals from all those rows and all in between?  It's been awhile for me.

It's probably not as bad as it sounds.  Everything the Red Sox do has to be turned into a big drama by the media.

Masshole Nation demands nothing less!

I just tried it and they still have that feature.

One thing they did change was showing salaries in the Value tables of a player’s card. It was really handy to scroll down just a touch and see what the players’ pay was for their careers versus their performance. Now you have to scroll practically all the way to the bottom of a guy’s card, and if you’re on a phone, you have to expand the Salaries table to see it.

It's not working for me.... it looks like its doing something and it does highlight the rows.  Maybe it's a browser setting.  NOt too worried about it.

It works for me, but it can be sketchy.  Sometimes, it doesn't highlight the rows I think it should be highlighting and I have to refresh.

It worked for me on the player page but not on the team results page.

Basically I was trying to compare the Tigers/Twins results from 2009 to 2024.  In both cases I recall dramatic wins/losses by both teams, although in the Tigers case in 2009 it wasn't so bad, they played slightly worse than usual but the Twins skyrocketed.

Workman was taken in the rule 5 by cubs from us. IF he doesn't make the cubs roster he is returned. That is what Edman was referencing. Not the DFA situation

Already leading the Cubs in spring homers....  https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2025/02/20/gage-workman-cranks-the-cubs-first-home-run-of-the-spring/https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2025/02/20/gage-workman-cranks-the-cubs-first-home-run-of-the-spring/  Apparently he has tremendous power.

I'm wondering if he had a broken hand all of last year when he hit .137?  If not, maybe he could actually hit better with just one hand.  It didn't work well for him with two healthy hands.

I’m not sure it has ever worked on the team results page. I haven’t tried in years because it never did work for me.

Skubal has a chance to win back to back Cy Young Awards. The last time this was done was 2008/2009 by Tim Lincecum in the NL for San Francisco. Pedro Martinez was the last AL back to back winner for Boston in 1999/2000. Looking at the AL list, Roger Clemens won it back to back twice. Once as a Red Sox pitcher in 1986/1987 and back to back again in 1997/1998 as a Blue Jay. 11 years later. Even on steroids, that's amazing. 😅😅

Wish Clemens was a better breeder though.

Tigers signed Thomas Szapucki... Was a bit of a dude in the Mets' system before injuries, traded to the Giants late in Harris's time there and has been dealing with thoracic outlet. Worth a flier...

Ok and which player are the cubs gonna cut to keep him, one of the free agents they signed this offseason or their top prospect?
