Yea, third is relatively new and it needs to be his focus but just think of the flexibility it would provide. no 1B glove at least until he hits his 1st MLB HR. Quote
Tigermojo Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 I say just put Keith at third but my name isn't AJ Hinch. 1 Quote
chasfh Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 I don’t think we know where anyone is going to end up until late March. Infield is a mess right now, so consequently, it’s pretty open and subject to change. Quote

Keith was pretty good at second and I would be comfortable with him there. Problem is all of our good prospects play second. If Keith could play third it would help a lot. Quote

BR didn't like his fielding at all, Statcast rated him even, pretty large disagreement there. He's a big body and if he gets any bigger third might be the more natural fit range wise, but we don't know the medicals on his arm. Quote

Edman85 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 As predicted, Leonard and Flores are back on minor league deals. 1 Quote
roarintiger1 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Anyone have interest in signing Scherzer or Verlander? It might sell a few more tickets. But I'm not sure it would equal more wins. Quote

And Goff is already breathing down Bobby Layne’s neck. Quote
AlaskanTigersFan Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 Seriously.... WTF are we waiting for..... Go Get Flaherty and Beuhler NOW! Crazy. We are going to wait to go bargain shopping then we'll miss out on everyone... Oi vey. Quote

I don't think I would want to make the decision today to rely on either to be what we need two or three years from now, which is a key reason you want to sign a guy to a long-term deal in the first place. AlaskanTigersFan Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 Both of these guys would be solid five year players. High Risk, HIgh reward. But you pair them with Jobe and Skubal, you could potentially have four #1's.... Not to mention the pitchers behind them. It's time. If we sit on our laurels and do nothing, I don't think we make the playoffs next year. I still think this past season was a mirage..... Man I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I am. Quote
LongLiveMaroth Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 I am sure he would cost us some prospects but Suzuki would make a nice RH OF option and has 2 years left on his deal. 1 Quote
theroundsquare Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Suzuki’s OBP would definitely be welcome 2 Quote

He would not be cheap, but he does have an 18M per year contract for the next 2 years. He was worth 3.5 WAR last year. My best guess? Maybe one of Hamm, Hao-Yu Lee, Melton, or Madden and Max Anderson, Campos or Rucker. They want/need pitching so my guess would be something like a Madden and Campos trade if they wanted an arm closer to the Bigs? Quote
