Verlander would sure get people in the seats. It would make a great sentimental homecoming story. I’m capable of being unduly happy over this. Bergman? The people running this team are certainly smarter than me so if they’re willing to do it, sure. But I don’t know why I have to give a golly gosh darn oh my heck about what “oddsmakers” think.

Draft Kings runs the cops!

[insert cleverly AI edited version of scene from Robocop where the dad from that Seventies Show begs for his life but instead of saying that "**** Jones runs OCP and OCP runs the cops" he says the above.]  Now tell me AI won't bring us a brighter future.

Predicting Bregman to the Yankees for 7 years, $220 million

Something should be happening before to long with Bregman. I just wonder if the Cubs are now involved? Who is their 3B, now and for the future, after this deal?

Interesting interview with Cobb. Tigers are making a name for themselves on the field, in the clubhouse and in the front office.

I practically got a boner reading this part of the story, especially the second paragraph:

“I think every team pitches you on that idea,” Cobb said of improvement through adjustments. “I think what separates Detroit is the fact that I know Scott [Harris], his background, and I have talked to other free agents, people that have gone through the process with them that said it was different here.

“I haven't gotten into it with them yet; I’m excited too. But [others] suggest that it is not the same as the pitch that other teams give you, that their data’s a little bit different and they have the staff that knows how to take that and translate it into an athlete’s terms of understanding.”

This is exactly the kind of thing I have wanted for my franchise for 25 years!

now, if the Tigers can just get there with hitters. I came across some fan posts criticizing the Yankees org - complaining that when Judge slumped Boone and the Yankees just waited and compared it to when Freddy Freeman slumped with the Dodgers and they had all kind of analysis/help for him (I don't know the Freeman case so can't speak to how true it is, but apparently the perception is out there).
