1984Echoes Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 They ARE fun to watch this year...! Despite some of the ups and downs of a very bumpy road... 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 This is almost good luck of biblical proportions, which is scary because there’s a lot of bad luck biblical proportion too, but still really awesome. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Late game victories are so much fun. Bring on those damn Yankees... 1 Quote

Then he was finally at Toledo rehabbing and threw it out again in his 1st game there and I'm not sure he ever played again after that - certainly not in Det. EDIT: I see TM has posted on the surgeries. I assume the 2nd one was after the Toledo re-injury but I don't remember. It was really too bad because he was turning into a very good hitter. He tried to come back with Toronto and needed a second surgery before the season started. Tried again the year after that and still had pain so he hung up the spikes. 1 Quote

According to my weather app, there’s rain in the forecast for all three games so I’m going to expect a lot of driveway updates from you people in the Detroit metro area. 1 2 Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Thanks everybody for answering my Andy Dirks question. This is one of the many reasons this is still a great place to be. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 A combined 1 hitter. We're 5-1 against a team that's fighting for their playoff lives. Amazing... 1 Quote
Tenacious D Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 We’ll always remember this as the Sunk Cost win, when both Maeda and Baez came through. 1 1 Quote

First run off of him since July 4th, according to Jason. A 2 out, 2 run homer to Javy....very good to see but really kinda unbelievable. Edited August 15, 2024 by Sports_Freak 1 Quote

Tigermojo Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Meadows two stolen bases today. He and Javy were literally ALL the offense today but that was enough. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 What a great series for the home crowd. A blowout and two late innings come from behind wins with both being “group efforts.” A lot to cheer about. 1 Quote

When we pitch like this, a little offense is all we need. We only gave up 1 hit and 5 walks. 4 of those walks came in the 1st inning. 1 Quote
Tigermojo Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Maeda talking after the game about adjustments being made to improve velocity on all of his pitches and it seems to be paying off lately. 1 Quote
Tigermojo Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Bring on the Yankees. We love crushing hopes and dreams. 1 1 Quote
RatkoVarda Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Ms fans are freaking out about getting swept scoring 4 runs total (we've been there dudes) insanely good pitching if they can get to the playoffs, but the offense is offensive Quote

CaliforniaDreaming Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 That guy in LF made a great catch on the HR...tracked it all the way. And the poor kid behind him is a Mariners fan...looks heart broken. 1 Quote

It’s good that he’s figured something out. I’m sure not many want to see him return next season, but if he can prove that the first half of this season was an anomaly, having his career numbers next season will be one less hole the Tigers have to fill during the off-season.
