I haven't been able to make Twitter posts embed in here lately so it might kinda kill my posting for a bit.

Buch has been playing well I think he's almost at a PPG through 23-ish games.  MBN and ASP's coach just got fired in the SHL in what sounds like a player revolt of sorts, interesting.  ASP played with Sweden (his age group I believe) today and scored a goal, I haven't seen it yet.

Belcher finally suited up for the Griffins, that's great to see.

After a fantastic start to the season Kisskinen is injured and out for four weeks it looks like, really bummed he'll miss the WJC most likely.

Lombardi has been scoring well in the AHL so far, though it seems like the Griffins have hit a tiny skid perhaps.  Danielson looks more comfortable from what I have seen and he's been their 2C.  He needs to bulk up...

I actually am not sure if Mazur is back from his injury I don't think he is.

Apparently, Buch is on pace to set the U22 scoring record in the KHL

It also looks like he's getting a ton of chances that teammates aren't capitalizing on too.  He seems like he's really stepping up this season, it is great to see.

Man Twitter still won't embed for me, lots of nice Lombardi and Danielson plays I want to show off!

MBN only has two goals this season in the SHL but allegedly has the highest expected goals for of the team, so hopefully he starts taking off soon.

Also checking in on everyone's favorite goalie argument Wallstedt vs Cossa: Wallstedt has a .869 save percentage in the AHL and Cossa is 7th in the league at .935.  Cossa is younger than all the goalies above him, outside of Askarov (only 5 months older than Cossa I didn't realize he was that young) the other goalies are 2+ years older and a few guys much more so with NHL experience.

“Almost every time Buchelnikov appears on the ice, he is superbly active both with and without the puck,” noted KHL TV commentator Anton Vasyatin. “Now he is a key player for the team.”

Recent analytics provided by the KHL Smart Puck show Buchelnikov and Maxim Mamin of CSKA Moscow as the faster skaters in the KHL. Each has displayed a top seed of 39.5 km/h. He’s also among the most accurate passers in the league. He accurately connected on 335 of his passes"

He's also close to the KHL scoring lead right now, think he's in third

what would you give up for david jiricek?  big right handed defenseman who has not lived up to his draft status.

lombardi?  mbn?  a top 15 protected pick?

I think Frank makes a lot of **** up but he's saying they have 5-6 offers on the table and are looking for a prospect of the same caliber.  Personally I would probably just keep our prospects versus trading for him but I guess he's supposed to be a good player so what do I know.  It would probably be one of ASP / MBN / Danielson if they wanted to do it.  Maybe one of their top two goalie prospects but who knows.

edit: from a Lebrun video: Chris Johnston says Columbus initially wanted another prospect back for Jiricek, but they’re getting to a point where they might consider a package of picks + depth defenseman to get more teams involved. They want it done quick because Jiricek is in the AHL and doesn’t want to stay there for long.

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/montreal-canadiens-are-no-1-in-tsn-s-annual-nhl-team-ranking-of-u-24-players-1.2207606

TSN's annual NHL team ranking of U-24 players. Wings rise from #6 last year to #3 this year, behind Montreal and San Jose and just ahead of New Jersey and Minnesota

Players are labeled AAA (superstar), AA (elite), A (No. 1 goalie, top-pair defenceman, first-line forward) or B (tandem goalie, top-four defenceman, top-six forward) or C (backup goalie, depth defenceman, bottom-six forward).

Examples of other established NHL players under 24 who they peg as "AA" like Seider and Raymond include Cole Caulfield, Luke Hughes, Brock Faber, Tim Stutzle, and Owen Power. The only "AAA"s on their list seem to be Celebrini, Jack Hughes and Bedard.

most nights edvinsson looks better or just as good as seider right now.  criminally too low.  the others track, but i still think danielson could be better than that.

Interesting list.  Augustine over Cossa (and both higher than every other prospect).  Plante over Danielson.  No Lombardi.  Edvinsson feels low especially as a "B".  But I'll definitely take #3.  I think they have some intriguing offensive pieces outside of this top 10 too: Buchelnikov, Finnie, Becher, Kiiskinen and Lombardi.  Some interesting depth guys in Mazur, James and Savage for lower in the lineup.  Now they just need some of them to make the show....

augustine is younger and is dominating the ncaa.  AND he's the #1 for the US and has done it on the big world stage already.

he's futher along than cossa was at his age.  that being said, big goalies take time and cossa has a higher ceiling simply because of his size.

trade one of them for a top 4 defenseman...

With goalies being wildcards I personally give Cossa the edge right now because he's putting up good numbers against pros, but it is also a factor of being older so it really isn't Trey's fault.  I just feel like anything can happen when goalies jump up in levels of competition so I rate Cossa more at the moment.  But I don't fault anyone rating Augustine higher based on potential, he looks like a great prospect.

I imagine his ceiling is higher than Berggren but I don't know how likely he is to get there.  I really hope I can see some of his KHL games this season though, I haven't seen enough to have a truly educated opinion.

berggren was really good in sweden too.

i just have doubts on anyone the wings pick outside of round one right now.

Just looking at points they pretty much have the same career trajectory so far:

D+1

Buch 2 points in 10 KHL games, lots of minors games

Berg 3 points in 16 SHL games

D+2

Buch 29 points in 55 KHL games

Berg 12 points in 24 SHL games

D+3

Buch (so far) 29 points in 32 KHL games

Berg 45 points in 49 SHL games

Despite his size it seems like Buch goes into dirty areas more than Berggren likes to so hence my evaluation.  I don't think he's super likely to be better than Burgers just that there's a chance.

Berggren always truck me as being not  a good enough skater to be as small as he is.  If he skated like that as a 6-2, 215lb it would be one ting. but 5-11 and 190ish...he needs to be faster
