After getting screwed in the draft lottery again, Yzerman was still fairly productive. Lucas Raymond, William Wallinder, Theodor Niederbach, Cross Hanas, Donovan Sebrango, Eemil Viro, and Jan Bednar are all notables from this class.

Uhh, fairly productive? Notables? Not one NHL game other than Raymond.

3 guys playing solid minutes in the AHL at age 22, a 4th round pick goalie posting solid ECHL numbers at 22, and 1 guy used to help trade to get DeBrincat... seems fine to me.  Even Niederbach looks like he could double his point total from his previous SHL season which was his first full time season so he could be something though not likely.

elmer soderblum just reversed check someone and then got in a fight!  that he proceeded to win ny pummeling the guy in 3 punches.

Hopefully this clicks with him because he could have a long career in the NHL if he played physical and mean

I wish someone could shake some sense into Rasmussen that he falls into the same category of needing to be physical and mean

a thousand times this.

that's what he was SUPPOSED to be.  that's why a 6'6 guy gets drafted #9.  and he's played like it for MAYBE 20 games two years ago.  since then, nothing.  he's just an ordinary nhl player but tall.  not physical.  not imposing.  nothing.

he must be a really nice guy because none of the beat writers ever call him out.  not even bultman (the best of the bunch).

I wonder if it just goes back to him not being 'strong' on his skates. I don't think he has the balance as a skater to try to play much of a physical game without ending up on his butt all the time.

i agree it takes time to build up strength.  i also think it takes a different mindset than the one he came into the league with.  he was all about fancy stick handling and dekes and dunks.  he was about avoiding getting hit.

this is the nhl, not the swedish league.  the ice is smaller.  the players are bigger.  the game is more physical.

god has given that young man stu gimson's frame with alex debrincat's hands.  use it  young man, use it.

I don’t care what anyone says, I’ve always liked Pierre McGuire. His enthusiasm, his awkwardness, his call-outs to a player’s junior team even after he has been in the NHL for ages.

i threw up a little bit when he quoted kenny.

Shows off the top 5 prospects pretty well. I thought it was worth mentioning Kasper broke his knee playing in the NHL when he first came to North America. EP mentions he started slowly in the ahl but no mention of the circumstances with the injury recovery.
