Sports_Freak Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Meadows really has taken charge in CF ever since that misplay several games ago. It's like "get outta my way, I got it" Quote

oblong Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 I like Javy and hope he can turn it around because I appreciate that he’s not sulked or made noise. If he were a white guy with a mustache they would say he’s grinding and battling thru it. I’ve not seen him dog it or fail to hustle. 4 2 Quote

Sports_Freak Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Trivia question...I guessed George Kell. I looked it up and Kell only had 78 career home runs. 12 was his most in any year. Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 When I was a little kid our milkman in Auburn IN – yeah I know this is the old days when there actually were milkmen – and our milkman was Wayne Schurr who had been in 30 games as a reliever for the Cubs in 1964. When I finally got his baseball card for an autograph, which I admit was not hard to do because they printed a lot of the marginal ballplayers, I never saw him again because he had been moved to a different milk route, and he never pitched more than that one season for the Cubs. 1 Quote

IdahoBert Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Was really hoping they were going to tie it up there so we could have that nailbiting extra inning victory. Quote
IdahoBert Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 At least Baez didn’t strike out on that pitch that was 4 feet out of the strike zone Quote
