I think Gibson knows what FIP is. Based on other things he's said the past few years. It's also 10:45 pm and he is a decade into Parky, so it wouldn't shock me if he is struggling a bit tonight.

Or he knows what teams use, which is a lot more advanced than FIP... hence him setting up Jason for xFIP.

There is a lot of role play in doing a TV broadcast. Think back to all the questions Sheppard would ask his color-man that he perfectly well already knew the answers to. They constantly need to create basis of for discussions they are having only for the listeners.
