Mr.TaterSalad Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Alright, Tate Ratledge. I like this pick. We needed to get younger at the interior offensive line and this helps us do that. Good pick, I'm happy. Quote
lordstanley Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago ESPN.com Pre-Draft Analysis Ratledge started 37 games at right guard, and his workout at the combine was impressive. He fires off the ball, knocks defenders back and stays connected in the run game. Ratledge keeps his base intact and covers linebackers when he releases to the second level. He's quick with the range to excel in zone-heavy schemes with improved footwork. Defenders can get into his frame initially, but he tends to work his big hands back inside and latches on as a pass blocker. He moves his feet, and he is tough to beat once he's in position. Ratledge packs a powerful punch and keeps his head on a swivel to work against stunts from the defensive line. -- Steve Muench Post-Draft Analysis If you asked before the draft what an ideal pick would be for Detroit in Round 2, this would have been the answer. Ratledge is an easy-moving right guard with big-time power on the point of impact in the run game. He also has the recovery agility to hold up in pass protection. The Lions need a right guard after Kevin Zeitler departed to the Titans in free agency, and they landed a battle-tested SEC starter. Ratledge will certainly see the field as a rookie with his impressive toughness and experience. -- Miller 1 Quote
Jason_R Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Maybe Detroit really wanted Starks last night and didn’t want to get snaked by Baltimore again. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Glasgow may not start. He would still be a good backup as he can backup center and both guard positions. 1 Quote

I think that's what will happen. When Mahogany got the couple of starts last year wasn't it at Left Guard? I think it was... Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago There was one of two teams I expected Mike Green to go to, Philly or Baltimore. Of course he went to Baltimore. He'll be a stud now. Quote
1984Echoes Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Green goes immediately after us... Hah! To the Ravens... which, for some reason... seems fitting. Quote

buddha Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago the lions have two thirds next year. so it wouldnt surprise me to see holmes give one up to get into the 4th round this year if they see something they like. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Lions now have Sewell, Mahogany and Ratledge on the line. All 25 or younger. Edited 9 hours ago by Motown Bombers Quote
buddha Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago all the eagles do is draft good players. i hate them. why cant they be more like the bears? Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Never forget, the Lions drafted Joseph with the comp pick they received for losing Golladay. Quote

It feels like the Eagles just go chalk with how the national pundits rankings are, like they routinely are drafting who those guys have as "the best available" when they pick. Maybe other teams should start doing the same thing since it obviously works for them? Quote

Motown Bombers Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago It appears they traded to 70. Guess they must not be worried the Patriots will pick their player. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Looks like the Lions did move up to 70. I don't know if I'd pick him here but WR Elic Ayomanor is a guy I really liked on tape. Quote
4hzglory Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Just now, buddha said: now pick josiah stewart. Or Sawyer Quote
buddha Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago i like that pick (still would have liked stewart or sawyer too...) i HATE these trades. gave up two third round picks to move up. Quote
