the only part I remembered myself is that there were a lot no-hitters that season and people were starting to talk about it being 1968 all over again and when were they going to make a rule change.

I remember John Means of the Orioles throwing one either just before or after Turnbull only because there was a debate on twitter about who was a better bet going forward in real life and in fantasy baseball. Naturally I chimed in with the homer answer of Turnbull and within a week or so he was on the shelf.

Whenever I see a poll on twitter with something like "who had the better career - **** Allen or Reggie Smith?", I always choose one without looking first and then I look it up and see if my answer seems right.
