Casey needs his best FB - breaking balls don't fool KC much, hardest team to K in the AL. The bullpen has to be tired at this point. Tarik has struggled against KC. These next two will be a battle. Tigermojo
I do my share of bashing AJ but bringing in Perez to face the lefty with a right hander warming up was such a good move. They had to choose, choose the form of your destructor, like Ghostbusters.
IdahoBert
Such a great night, such a great comeback such a great surprise. Where I live in Idaho, it’s raining for the first time in months and I love the pattering sound of it, probably something the rest of you from more rainy climates consider banal. But after weeks of 100° days and choking, smoky skies from range and forest fires, the sound of the rain is intoxicating. It’s like listening to an ASMR rainfall recording on YouTube. It’s a perfect night with the Tigers winning and finally, rain. “And that’s the way it is,” as my good friend Walter Cronkite used to say.
gehringer_2
So Keith in the middle of another huge DP in the 8th. Stat nerds having trouble deciding about Colt. BR Rrds still hates him - has him at -10. At Statcast he's up to +3 OAA. He made some errors early but is currently on a 27 game errorless streak. I think he's going to be fine there. Of course, I'm only slightly biased.

The kids came back from a 4 run deficit tonight. Ain't no quit in them. From the outside, it looks like they've got their collective head down and are just doing work. Love it. 1776
My wife looks at me during the game last night and asked, “So are we going to spring training again next year?” In that the Tigers are starting their season on the west coast next year, their last two spring training games will be at Oracle Park in S.F. Interesting.

They have 3 more in Cleveland, 3 in Boston and 3 at home w/Miami and finish with 3 at home against Baltimore. If I were a gambler, I would take the Tigers. That you can watch Major League Baseball games where you get bombarded with gambling ads and not become a gambler is the modern day equivalent of Greek Asceticism. I love Dan Dickerson and I think he’s in the conversation for best radio PxP of the 21st Century, but between this, throwing to commercial with two outs, and hearing him make relatively egregious errors like calling plays before they actually finish (e.g., wall-scraper home runs, fence catches, safe/out at base), I fear he has been getting either sloppy or he’s, god forbid, starting to age more quickly. This is not a hot take—I started really noticing the signs last season. I hope I’m all wet on that.

The thing that I think is so amusing with the ads from some of the sites is that they depict the target customers as lonely and stupid. The "parley time" ads especially. You normally want make your customer associate your product with being a successful/smart/socially adept etc. (note the contrast with the glitzy high-life MGM ads). papalawrence
Watched a recap on youtube and at one point, I think it was after Vierling drove in the 7th run, a KC announcer said something like "we haven't seen these Tigers before, these Tigers have teeth." Was interesting to hear an opponent comment on how the Tigers are playing different these days

The pitch clock seems a little bit hurried to me at times, and I wouldn’t have a problem if they added few seconds to it. it just feels patently unnatural. Five additional seconds would increase games by 25 minutes if there are 300 pitches per game. Maybe that’s too much. Three seconds would add 15 minutes which isn’t too bad. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m in the minority on this. I certainly don’t want to go back to nearly 4 hour long games.
