He should get a lot of votes. But KC lost 106 games last year.

But they are collapsing down the stretch and we are surging after the sell-off.

Agreed. Hinch should get a lot of votes. Who else? KC manager is the only AL manager that's competition. Just what Hinch did with 2 (!!!) starting pitchers is amazing.

If Minny collapses and KC and Det both get in Quatraro wins it. If the Tigers miss Quartraro wins it. If KC collapses and Minny and Det make it, Hinch wins it.

Seattle, once leading 5-0, loses 6-5 on a Texas walkoff. They’re now 2 games back of the Tigers with 6 to play, the Tigers hold the tiebreaker, and the Mariners’ next 3 games are at Houston. So hardly much of a factor.

I may watch that Red Sox - Minnesota game. I took a perverse joy in watching the Cleveland - Minnesota game Thursday. It was hard seeing Cleveland celebrate, but if the Red Sox win tonight they will be celebrating merely getting to .500 and they will be doing our team a favor by burying Minnesota.

If they wait until the end of the year and the Tigers make the playoffs and the Royals don't, then it will be Hinch.  I think a lot of writers mail it in early though.  This is not an award that matters to me at all though, so I'll be fine either way.

Foley getting back on the horse. Forgive me for being nervous here.

You worry too much about Foley.  There are lots of mediocre closers in baseball who blow games and usually they are just fine the next outing
