lordstanley Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Not sure what the models say, but I now give the Tigers a better than 50% chance of making the playoffs. 1 Quote
Dino Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 To Foley, keep throwing them bowling balls. That was ****ing nasty. Damn Quote

Hinch should get a lot of votes. Who else? KC manager is the only AL manager that's competition. Just what Hinch did with 2 (!!!) starting pitchers is amazing. Quote

Tenacious D Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 7-2 over the last 9 games vs Baltimore and KC. Totally exceeded expectations. Quote

lordstanley Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Seattle, once leading 5-0, loses 6-5 on a Texas walkoff. They’re now 2 games back of the Tigers with 6 to play, the Tigers hold the tiebreaker, and the Mariners’ next 3 games are at Houston. So hardly much of a factor. Quote

IdahoBert Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 I may watch that Red Sox - Minnesota game. I took a perverse joy in watching the Cleveland - Minnesota game Thursday. It was hard seeing Cleveland celebrate, but if the Red Sox win tonight they will be celebrating merely getting to .500 and they will be doing our team a favor by burying Minnesota. Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 In game two the Red Sox pitcher Crawford has given up 33 home runs. Quote
Tiger337 Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 It's really looking like the Tigers are going to finish second in the division. Quote

If they wait until the end of the year and the Tigers make the playoffs and the Royals don't, then it will be Hinch. I think a lot of writers mail it in early though. This is not an award that matters to me at all though, so I'll be fine either way. Quote

There are lots of mediocre closers in baseball who blow games and usually they are just fine the next outing Quote
