Did I hear that right? Red Sox have not hit a grand slam this year? I’m assuming that the 62 Mets had at least one. It’s a chastening experience to see other teams do frustrating things. No grand slams? Now 8-2

Ignoring the possibilities of trade/FA signing, I see Vest and Brieske as the two closer options next season. Brieske would have to get his walk rate down, but of the available options he has the velo the strike-out potential for the role. Vest's numbers are actually better, but I'm not sure anyone really trusts Vest ....yet.

Foley is Foley. Very nice piece, not optimal in the 9th - esp against teams that are willing to shorten up and play small ball.

And Holton is a huge part of the BP.

Would you rather play Houston on the road or Baltimore on the road? I think if we pass both the Twins and KC, we play Baltimore?

Beating either will be gratifying.

I personally would rather play at Houston just because we've played Baltimore 6 times now in the past couple weeks. I feel like that type of familiarity with our pitching staff could hurt us since our staff outside of Skubal and maybe a couple others don't rely on raw stuff to get you out but location and keeping you off balanced. I think the more times you see guys like that the better your chances are to get to them. Have no data to back that up though.

Now to continue the stress with the Lions. I don't have enough beer for this.

I’ll be honest.  This Tiger team hasn’t stressed me.  It’s been enjoyable to see these kids playing well and the in game management has been great.  I’d have never guessed the pitching would perform this well, especially when they were short on traditional starters.

What does the Pistons sucking have to do with a hard salary cap in baseball? There's gonna be teams in every sport that sucks.

I’m not the one making the assumption that a cap in sports helps smaller market teams.

That’s a good point.

But Altuve...Houston is an experienced playoff team. IDK....Baltimore LH bats scare me.

Let me know how you feel when Skubal signs a 300 million, 10 year contract and Greene splits too. Losing players to free spending teams sucks. I guess we can just keep trading guys and play prospects.
