If Tyler has a good game will McCoskey tweet out "Yeah, bro!"

Tyler has been used mostly as the long guy after an opener but this will be his second consecutive start. OPS platoon split is 818/748 so he's not exactly shutting down LH hitters. Tigers should be able to put up some runs.

Counterpoint: sweeps are hard, and Thursday day games are weird.

A sweep of Colorado 2 weeks ago seemed a sure thing with Skubal on the mound.

I think a win today would eliminate Seattle from taking our spot in the playoffs? I think we have the tiebreaker against them and the best they could do is match our win total at 85, if we win. I'm not sure about their elimination number against KC or the Twins.

Right. Back in August not only were the Tigers so far back of Minnesota and K.C. but there were a bunch of other teams ahead of them. Seattle, Boston, Tampa, even Texas and Toronto. Now all irrelevant or in Seattle’s case about to be.

Who woulda ever guessed it? Especially after we traded Flaherty? This rapid turnaround is nothing short of amazing. Biggest story in 2024 sports.
