I root for them to lose regardless of playoff implications. In the case that they’re playing Cleveland, I root for them to lose and Cleveland to be deemed cheating and have the wins vacated. We've had to "root" for Cleveland a couple of times over these last few weeks. Felt so dirty and gross.

There's a name I haven't heard in a while but you're right he would have. He just knew how to play the game the right way!

romad1
Until the final nail is in the 2024 Twins coffin i will worry, but the way they play the game lately has been a shock.
lordstanley
So all six division flags have been clinched, as have the four first round byes. The final two wildcard spots in the AL could be clinched tonight. Apart from seeding, the only real drama is which two of NY Mets, Arizona and Atlanta grab the final two NL wildcard spots - Mets and Dbacks a game up on Atlanta, with the Dbacks only having 3 games left but the Mets and Atlanta having 5 left. I see Atlanta winning 2 of 3 from KC. So if (when) the Tigers win 2 of 3 from the WSox, we get the 2nd wildcard and play in Baltimore. And have Skubal in game one. Against Burnes.

Players never asked to bunt in the minors, never taught how to bunt and never practice bunting. And then they're asked to bunt in a pressure situation. Stupid baseball play by stupid players and a stupid manager asking for something stupid. Just...stupid ball being played in Minnesota. They deserve an early off-season. HeyAbbott
I haven't been this excited about the end of a season since the waning days of the 1967 Tigers season. There were no playoff spots back then You either won the AL or the NL, or you went home. There were five teams in a ten team league that had a shot in the final week of the season, and the Tigers lost their final 2 games and lost out. This season has been more exciting as this season was a total surprise, while the Tigers were expected to be in contention in 1967. CaliforniaDreaming
I had to look up "Wite" since the game thread says we are playing the "Wite Sox". wite responsibility for a crime, fault, or misfortune; blame. Makes perfect sense. They are responsible for their record this season which is criminal. Nice job on naming the thread!
SoCalTiger
So we find ourselves today back where the season began playing the White Sox and their ace Crochett. What a perfect spot to clinch the playoffs. Tonight we celebrate.
