I'm old enough to remember all World Series games being daytime affairs. No playoffs, win your league and advance, none of this division hooey. Thankfully someone always managed to sneak a transistor radio into class. Occasionally a teacher would bring a TV into class and declare a "reading period".

My high school history teacher brought at TV into history class for the 1984 Tigers world series run. He simply said: "History is in the making", turned on the TV, and sat down to watch with us.

Ironic that Kay is doing a Skubal start when 2 years ago he went off on the Yankees for getting shutout by this "nobody" in Tarik Skubal.

He caught a lot of heat for that on social media cause while Skubal wasn't proven yet in the majors he was arguably the top left handed pitching prospect in baseball a year or 2 prior. If that would've been a Yankee he would've been looked as a big deal just based off his prospect pedigree and not a "nobody".

Maeda was not very much in doubt. Montero has certainly been trending in the wrong direction. I suppose in the end, when in doubt, go with Velo - which of the guys on the bubble would be Mize.

It will be Olson and Hurter getting bulk innings anyway. Montero could be in for longer rounds. If Mize is in a game, things are probably not going as planned.
