I would wish something like that only on bad people. It's OK. He'll get another shot next year.

However, from a competitive standpoint, I see no justification in keeping him for next year. We already have 5-7 better options for SP, plus an additional 4-5 better options for long relief in the system. Its time to let a newly fledgling franchise take chances on bounce back arms and for us to start moving forward with our youth. Maeda is not going to get cut this winter, I’m as close to 100% sure of that as I can be. Same with Javy. They will both get a chance in Lakeland to show what they can do, but if Javy is batting a buck-ten on March 15, or Maeda has a 10 ERA by then, either or both might be simply cut. chasfh
Looks like the Tigers are definitely playing with house money and phoning it in. Our approach to this game is not unlike taking a half-hearted stab at the slots at 3:30am with money you won in blackjack before going back up to the room for the night. Might as well get used to the idea that we’re going to Houston on Tuesday. Hopefully Yordan Alvarez will be out for the series with his injury. Well, that and the fact that he’s an established major league pitcher who is not at the stage of his career where it’s one bad year and it’s curtains for him. Even if he were making a million next year, i think he’d still get the same shot.

chasfh
Man, what a heady play by Sweeney at second, recovering the Colt Keith bobble on the grounder. Almost got two out of it!
chasfh
Man, Mize got discombobulated on that grounder which should have been an inning-ending double play.

Tenacious D
Keider? I would have thought he would be the Game 2 starter. Looking like it will be a bullpen game now.
chasfh
Now Keider Montero is getting trigger time this game? Does that mean he’s not starting in Houston/Baltimore? Are we doing the bulk reliever in Game Three where Montero comes in for five innings in the second? Or might this mean that Jackson Jobe might get a start? Kenta will get another shot, but he has no business being on the playoff roster - unless you want a guy to eat up inning in a blow out. Motor City Sonics
White Sox haven't scored 9 runs in a week this season. It wasn't partying - it was not having that same fire the last two days because how could they? That would be way too much to ask. Could you imagine if this was happening and they hadn't clinched yet? We'd be freaking out so much.
