There surely must be a word (likely in German) for the terror Tigers fans felt during the final out yesterday between the split second it took for the ball to leave the bat, move out of camera range, and end up safely in Tork’s glove.

Ich schiss mir in die Hose.

Streaming the espn feed.  These announcers are worthy of the mute button.

Streaming Dan and Bobby on Sirius channel 849 so I can mute Michael Kay.

The only thing that would be worse would be the stupid whistle that happens after a yankee strikes out somebody.

I had always thought that sound came from some movie, like maybe a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western or something, but I learned while in the stadium this year that it’s part of a local ad jingle. So, doubly stupid.

I didn’t realize Hunter Brown is a Detroit native and grew up a Tigers fan.

According to Dan he makes his offseason home in downtown Detroit.

Yeah, it was best described in "For the Love of the Game" movie with all the fans waving birch sticks for the player named Birch.  And in real life with all the fans in RF wearing judicial robes for Aaron Judge.  Yankee self-obsession is annoying and must be mocked.

This is probably a failure of my own imagination, but I don’t think of white guys named Hunter Brown as the type to live in downtown Detroit during the offseason.

You have not been to downtown Detroit in a while. White flight is over......
