I've been spending the last hour running analytics. After double and triple checking my math, I can confidently predict that if the Tigers pitching staff does not give up another run for the rest of the playoffs, they will win the World Series.

I want to face NY just because it validates us on the big stage (like whipping the Astros didn't already do that).  The whole MLB would hate it if two regional teams were in the ALCS narrative bores me.  Nobody watches the MLB playoffs except the people in those two towns or their diaspora of fans.

It would be rather poetic to make the World Series by knocking off all three AL division winners.

And I’m not sure the Yankees are a much tougher matchup than the Royals right now. Especially if Judge struggles. KC’s pitching matches the Yankees’.

If the Tigers were to advance and happened to beat NYY with the pitch chaos theory, MLB will change the rules immediately.  I don’t think Vogt is the type to complain about it but you just know it’s burning up some people in the league.

The biggest person it is burning up is Boras. The agent meister will put a stop to this for '25.

I am going to see the French electronic duo Air tomorrow at The Fox Theater.     Hopefully we get a cell signal inside the building, but I am expecting that when that show lets out I am going to walk out to see a Detroit I've never seen, full of people having a great time  - just buzzing.      My whole life I saw other cities with people walking around and taking part in all kinds of things and I would dream about how cool it would be to see Detroit like this.   This is different than the NFL Draft or Super Bowl or Final Four,  those are great, but full of out-of-towners.   But this is for US.   Even if the Tigers don't win tomorrow there is going to be electricity in the air.   One of my co-workers pointed me towards a parking app and I already reserved a space for tomorrow for $10.    Will have to take the Q-Line to get to the heart of things, but I really didn't want to pay $50 for parking.     Taking a rare day off work tomorrow so I wouldn't have to rush  (I leave work in Ann Arbor at 6:15).   It's gonna feel like a REAL city finally.

Oh, and **** The Athletic.

The draft, super bowl and final four are all planned and known about months or years in advance. This Tiger run is all being played out in a matter of days, or a week. That makes the excitement more spontaneous.

Q-Line is a good idea with how crazy it’s going to be with this and the Wings opener. Should be a crazy atmosphere. Have fun!

I think I would rather have Matt Vierling on the team than Gregory Soto.

Did you see how hyped up he was when he caught that line drive? Some people think players are only in it for the money, this guy would run thru a wall to win. A++ move by Harris.

Even if we don't beat KANSAS CITY, they're going to change it.   To satisfy gamblers, too.    Gamblers HATE this stuff.   They will force starters to have to meet either an innings floor,  pitch count floor or a minimum of having to face a lineup twice.

What is annoying about that is baseball wants the type of parity that the NFL has and will never get a salary cap and this method gives small market teams (who can't afford $30 - $40 million for a starting pitcher) a chance to be in the race.

The Tigers don't want to start a season with 1 or 2 starters and then Blender Ball the other 3 games,  they want 4 at least legit starters.

Will baseball force this for every game or just 4 out of 5/

Nothing more sad and embarrassing than a grown man calling a guy who carved out a successful career in mlb McStinky.

I've called him that so much that my spell checker changes it to McStinky even if I spell it correctly...lol

Tonight was the ELO concert at LCA. Guy sitting next to me was going to that. Tomorrow is red wings home opener.   Sometning was going on at the Fox tonight as I saw two your buses in the lot.

for parking I found a $10 spot next to elephant and company (former founders location) for today and tomorrow. I don’t mind walking and you can find good spots the further north you go on cass. You avoid alll the BS by the stadium with a 18 minute walk.

I don't think the bullpen strategy is sustainable for an entire season.  To start, the rotation was Skubal, Flaherty, Maeda, Olson, Mize with Manning in the wings.

Next season, I believe the Tigers are bringing in starters, hopefully to go 5 or 6 innings per game.

Vierling has made his mark in Detroit for sure. If I had to choose a favorite Tiger player this season he’d be the guy. He’s the same player every day. Leads by example and does whatever is asked of him.
